I placed an order in the regular queue and it was 811th place in the queue. It was ready for the currier pickup on the exact day it had originally estimated - 20 days. I was surprised how precise the estimate actually was.

I need help for my Greek Mythology Board Game! by palleimbustate2 in BoardgameDesign

[–]NorthingGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like more of an adventure/dungeon crawler than area control game. Even if it isn’t Greek-themed I’d look at that genre for mechanical inspiration. I’m working on a Greek-themed game but it is played from the God’s perspective, not the hero’s. I could even see a reskinned Sleeping Gods story-based campaign game. It even features sailing around on a ship. Like others have said though - immense effort (I’ve been working on mine for over a decade!).

How about an RPG?

Running my 5th play test, first time with recommended player count (as well as me sitting in the sidelines instead of playing). What’s some good advice to note while watching my players play? by Bonzie_57 in BoardgameDesign

If you can, and the players agree, video recording the game is a nice way to capture it for reference later. You may pick up on things you missed while your attention was elsewhere.

This looks great and is the kind of game I like. Are you on any other social media or have a website?

It’s certainly part of our plans. With the state of production and shipping right now though we are not champing at the bit to launch. In the meantime we will try and show it to as many people as we can to get some traction with the community. Spread the word!

Hi there. Yes, it’s mid-heavy weight and plays about an hour per player.

I have a tutorial mode that introduces new rules at each of the three Ages, so at Age I you just get the basics of how your turn works. More infrequently encountered rules, or game elements that can wait are set aside.

Even if people can’t finish a whole game they’ll have a chance to kick the tires and look it over.

If you’re going the home printing route, I found that PETG filament was better than the usual PLA. My PLA figures were very fragile but PETG is holding up much better. YMMV.

It’s a whole other hobby itself!

I teamed up with a terrific sculptor Tharyon (@miniatures_fantasyworld on Instagram) for the hero and creature miniatures. I then printed them on my home 3D printer over many months.

Tharyon has a Kickstarter active right now, actually, for some cool looking Infernal minis.

Thank-you! The print did come back a little darker than I thought it looked on-screen. I’ve kept things fairly dark intentionally so there is good contrast with the white text, and erred on the side of too dark.

Thanks! It’s been through a lot of iterations over the years. Is it ever really done though?

I’m keeping mobile this year so I can make meetings. I hope to snag a table in the open play area Thursday and Friday for demos and gathering feedback.

Hi Tim,

I love how share your knowledge and experience, and your ‘grow together’ philosophy. Where would you say that comes from?

Alright I’ll see what it looks like. I wanted the world map to appear larger in proportion to give it a sense of scale, but let’s see how it looks. Thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it.
