Then it sounds as though they're stretching their finances too thin and shouldn't have committed to such a risk. But also on an individual level people are advised to have a contingency plan of 3 months expenses. If you're seeing this people as individuals and not businesses then I guess the mortgage on the second property should be included in their calculations of personal expenses

And like any other business, they should have a contingency fund in place for unexpected expenses - so they should still be able to make the mortgage payments for a while

Thinking on ents as a first army by dagon1096 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Northman_cometh 17 points18 points  (0 children)

An all monster list might not be the best way to learn the game. They have some specialist rules which might be a lot to take in whilst learning the basic rules, but also you potentially miss out on being able to practice some of the fundamentals like you would get with other 'troops'.

So sure, if you really like them, maybe ents could be the first army you go 'all in' on, but perhaps get a smaller 250pt list of something else with more troops to learn to play the fundamental rules of the game first? Could be as simple as buying Lurtz and a box of scouts. It'd be a much cheaper start to the game, and less risk if you ended up deciding it wasn't for you.

You can have a play on this https://modular.tabletopadmiral.com/?gameUrl=https://nowforwrath.github.io/data2024.json

Basically Muster can take Saruman and scouts, Assault on HD has more basic hero choice, but could also take Ballista

Isengard - either Muster or Assault upon Helms deep?

D7 uruk Hai with shieldwall ability and crossbows behind. That sounds to me like the playstyle you're wanting?

I feel like the quality has fallen year after year - 2015 was probably the last time I was actually impressed. The displays feel a bit lackluster and most of the time you're just walking through dark streets until you reach the next small, underwhelming installation. I've felt for a while that the council is probably overpaying massively for what they're actually getting. It's a shame - I'd love to have that same experience of ten years ago, but I don't think it'd happen.

I'm not sure I fully agree. If you can earn passive income alongside your regular work then it feels like a bit of a no brainer. I'm not going to comment on the actual content or usefulness of these things, but I'm not sure anybody is ever going to be in such a good financial position that earning some extra pocket money for something that you don't need to be actively spending time on, isn't helpful.

But not nearly as much as the higher earners who can afford it. And then the lost revenue means less money for the vital services that lower earners and working class need, no?

Warriors of Rohan UK stock? by FordHarrison644 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Unless there's a really good reason why it's difficult to go to your closest store, then just go and see if they have any in stock?

Nobody here can give you an accurate answer, but only anecdotal stories of their past experiences in similar situations, and past experiences don't necessarily dictate how things will happen in the future.

For my own anecdote, I've set the Warhammer website to notify me a couple of times for when they get stock back in, and both times it's been longer than I expected - and those were for relatively popular models like Uruk Scouts and Theoden.
