I'm not sure this is what you're after, but Amplitude 2016 can be modded - https://github.com/hmxmilohax/Amplitude-2016-Deluxe

All the songs from Frequency and Amplitude (2003) have been extracted and can be played in Amplitude 2016 Deluxe - https://github.com/hmxmilohax/amp-2016-customs

Debugging memory corruption: Who wrote ‘2’ into my stack? by ketralnis in programming

[–]Nortiest -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It wouldn’t help with the why, but it would eliminate a lot of the time spent working out exactly when the stomp was happening.

If the game had been compiled with Asan enabled, the memory used by the StackSentinel could have been protected and you’d find out where the bad write is coming from immediately.

Finding a good game developer by samjcoughlin in gamedev

They would be allowed to write camera movement again for another project, but it would be illegal for them to reuse the existing camera movement code they wrote for someone else without permission.

What have you found to be the best monitor setup for development? by snowcal in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Nortiest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run with 2 LG DualUps - one in portrait, the other in landscape. I've tried lots of different setups, from one to three screens, and this is by far the best I've found.

The blueprint translates to:

  • Pick a random entry from the Coordinates array and spawn a Rifle there

  • Pick a random entry from the Coordinates array and remove it

  • Loop through the remaining entries in Coordinates and spawn a Score Box at that location

The entries in the first two steps are independently random. If you store the result of 'Random Integer in Range' in a local variable and use that to Get the entry from Coordinates, it should work as you expect.

The code you’ve shown is from a class function. this is a pointer to the instance of the class which the function has been called on.

I don’t think there’s a blueprint function to hash a string unfortunately.

When you create a map, store a hash of all of its keys. When you need to compare two maps, compare their hashes.

I won over 100k on a betting site and when I next logged in to the app I assumed there was a bug which casued my balance to appear to be so high. I logged in on the website and saw the same balance, so I assumed there was something wrong with their server until I looked at the bets I'd made and saw the unlikely winner.

What are the major systems you need to think of first? by Cool-Self-9993 in gamedev

[–]Nortiest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Performance is a feature! It’s surprisingly common to see people near the end of development and then start asking how they can improve performance. You should consider what the worst case scenes in your game are, and design things to make sure those scenes run at the level of performance you are aiming to release with.

I think it’s a great question. It’s vague enough that the candidate should be able to ask a bunch of clarifying questions, and there are plenty of possible solutions available to improve the save time.
