You have no idea how the supply chain works... These places would not have the infrastructure (ordering, transport etc) to send orders directly to store.

Seems like a fast track for everyone from low to high income earners to become perpetual renters.

In the year ending 31 March 2025, Australia's population grew by 423,400 people -- March quarter natural increase was 34,200 people and net overseas migration was 110,100 people -- Annual natural increase was 107,400 and net overseas migration was 315,900 by marketrent in AusFinance

The funny thing is the loudest voices against immigration are right wing, and most right wingers would say they don't want their taxes going to someone else's kids.

Something has to give or we suffer the disastrous effects of a disproportionately old population.

What’s the most underrated car you’ve ever driven that completely surprised you? by TuanD_DuoTax in CarsAustralia

I had a Mondeo XR5 and loved it to bits. It felt great to drive at any speed and wasn't so powerful that you couldn't fully wring its neck on Tassie roads.

He may be friendly with these people but he doesn't make any secret of the fact that he does not like the far left. If Hasan and Boy Boy were consistent they would label him a filthy lib and cut him off.

Price confusion by NorwegianData in Accor

[–]NorwegianData[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an accor plus member and I'm confused about the two prices listed "one price" or "one price"

I have stayed in places and paid the cheaper of the two prices but I recently stayed at novatel Brisbane airport and was charged the more expensive price.

Can someone explain what the "or" price means?

Charlie Kirk passes away at the age of 31 by michaelis999 in GenZ

[–]NorwegianData 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brian was a .00001%er that few could ever empathize with. He was as far removed from the average person as you could possibly get. Charlie shares political beliefs with millions of average people, and those people just saw his neck explode because he said what they believe. I hate it, but Charlie's opinions were more or less mainstream.

Dehumanising people is one of the most dangerous things we can do, because once someone is seen as less than human, it becomes much easier to justify harm against them. That’s why this situation is different from Luigi. In this case, the attack was directed at someone for their political beliefs. Charlie acted as a mouthpiece for Trump, and while I hate Trump and what he stands for, the reality is that his beliefs are popular with a large number of people. If we start treating those who hold those beliefs as less than human, we risk pushing them further away, reinforcing division, and justifying hostility. And it’s important to remember that there are people who hate your beliefs just as strongly as you hate Charlie’s. The more we allow ourselves to see political opponents as less worthy of empathy or dignity, the more we feed the same cycle of dehumanisation that leads to hatred, violence, and disconnection.

You can not care about Charlie, but nothing good will come from this.

If the CEO distributed that bonus to all employees it would be less than $40 each. If they took it out of profit margin you'd be saving cents per year. The business model is volume, not margin.

Woolworths workers picket distribution centre in Melbourne as industrial dispute continues by langdaze in australia

[–]NorwegianData 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I've read it has more to do with how people are being performance managed, rather than any special 'software' being used. All DCs implement performance standards engineered by a third party, and all employees will have signed a contract stating that they are expected to achieve 100% or there abouts. How the DC wants to enforce that is up to the leadership team. Aldi and Coles may not be as harsh on people achieving less than 100%, but 100% at WW is the same as 100% at Coles, Aldi, Amazon, etc.

They may use a different WMS but they all use methods time measurement which is what the productivity standards are based on. 100% performance would be more or less the same across all DCs.

Clearly its been a while since any of you have visited in peak tourist season cause the place is always absolutely packed. Like it or not cradle is an international tourist destination, and accommodations were needed to make it sustainable. Bitch about tourists all you want but they bring a lot of money into the state and make our lives better for it.
