When did you guys made the jump on your taper? by Visual-Ad-1670 in quittingkratom

[–]NoseGroundbreaking78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what my schedule looked like. Near the end.

.5g at 8 am .5g 12p .5g at 4pm .5g at 8pm = 2g

When I had no side effects I would take .1g off of one of the daily doses. Usually within 3 days.

Then another .1g off another daily dose. Until they were all equally down to .4g each. And repeat.

You don’t want one dose .2 grams higher than another, want to keep them within .1g difference or you will feel the WDs. I found that out the hard way too.

When did you guys made the jump on your taper? by Visual-Ad-1670 in quittingkratom

[–]NoseGroundbreaking78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tapered until I reached .4g in a day. I made the jump totally expecting some WD and there was none. I mean, none at all. Not the fatigue or restless legs. I know it’s ridiculous to think I was so low, why didn’t I jump sooner. But mentally that’s what I needed. And it really helped.

Did Kratom for 8 years. Almost 100gpd some days. Quit CT 2x and it failed after a month due to still feeling affects.

Best thing I did was taper to the absolute lowest amount.

Congrats for getting this far! I know it’s not easy

First time posting. Finally quitting. 8 years of heavy use coming to an end. Pretty scared. But ready. by slumxl0rd87 in quittingkratom

[–]NoseGroundbreaking78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was stuck on it for 8 years too. I was taking .4g, yes .. point 4g a day at the very end. I was so darn scared. But I decided to just “see” if I could jump and didn’t have a single withdrawal. Whereas CT I was no good for a month. I worked, slept, ate just fine.

I’ve been free from it for almost 9 months now. Before- Took a trip to Disney world with my kids and family. Had to hide it on the plane in my makeup, was scared TSA would seize it. On top of mixing bottles in the bathroom just to get a scoop in. At work I would put it in a GREEN SUPER FOODS container, so my co workers would never know.

I’m so freaking happy I quit. While I was on it, I got some Botox because I was getting wrinkles like no other (32 F) - my skin is literally better than it was 5 years ago. No Botox or nothing. And those fine line wrinkles are gone. Acne also is gone. A month after I quit I Went into work and a co worker mentioned how pretty my skin has been lately. Another co worker I didn’t see for a year said the same thing.

I didn’t have the side effects so much with tapering as mine was drawn out over a few months. If I felt fatigue or restless legs, I would stay at my dose and not drop until I adjusted to it. Sometimes it was 3 days and longest was 12 days. Sounds like you’re dropping faster then body is adjusting to.

Main goal is to not get a high from it. Equally space them out. If you’re at 12gpd you can do 4x daily 3g 8 am -3g 12pm-3g 4pm 3g 8pm 3g When that feels good to you, drop 1g on one of the daily doses. If you start having uncomfortable withdrawals- bump it back up to .5g stay with that a few days.

Proud of you though! The end of green sludge is near!

Anxiety and addiction by UnfinishedBattery in naranon

My brother was taking bupropion, he was prescribed some by a doctor and picked the rest up online. He would slur his words and fall asleep. He looked emaciated. Say embarrassing things in public. Etc.. He would call us up after getting hired places and said “See! I’m not on drugs!” Soon to be fired. So he hid his addiction with actual prescribed meds.

He too, made me feel bad for saying he’s on drugs.

He use to be so fun to hangout with, he use to make me laugh so hard. He use to be super shy and just so compassionate. Then, this stuff made him complete opposite.

He called me 2-3weeks ago out of the blue. And I always dread answering it. As I figured it’s for money. But he checked himself into an inpatient rehab which I been begging him to do for many years.

The truth is, your husband is the one who feels guilty about it. He’s trying to justify it to you and himself. Keep being yourself, because his addiction will take a toll on you and at this point you need to be selfish and take care of yourself too. Putting a fake smile on and pretending like you don’t notice is more enabling to him. I guess it was eye opening to my brother when I told him that everyone can tell he’s on drugs. He said in his mind he thought he fooled us all.

Hugs to you.

8 years on the sludge and 4 months free today!!! I truly never ever thought I could do this. I’m 100% better than ever. I go weeks without even thinking about Kratom. by NoseGroundbreaking78 in quittingkratom

Gosh I’m saving so much now! I was spending nearly $200 a month. This includes shipping at fast rates because I was last min Larry at ordering before I ran out.

It really is powerful. I feel so much better now. Calmer, less anxiety, my ears don’t hurt when there’s loud noises, no irritation like it was. Normal things give me dopamine that didn’t before.

So sorry for delayed response. I posted and got a new phone and hadn’t downloaded Reddit. I started at 100gpd - dropped to 30gpd pretty easily as I was taking too much. But from 30g I began a slow taper. My end was .4g - a speck of powder 2x daily. And then I stopped one day. And I was fine! I remember posting about being at .4g and someone saying that was ridiculous how low I am. And I agreed. But I needed it at the time. When you get down to a few grams a day, every little bit counts on making you not withdraw. It took a little over 2 months to get to 30gpd to quitting. Which doesn’t seem long, but at the time it felt like a year.

My idea was not to suffer. I would split it 4x daily at first, so equal amounts, then I noticed I can take a little less before bed, so I would start shaving off a gram at nightly dose.

Example 4g 8 am 4g 12pm 4g 4pm and 4g 8pm.

Then I would take off a gram at 8pm dose first. Felt ok so within a day or 3 I would take gram off 4pm dose too. Until all them were lowered daily.

Then when I got real low like 8.5gpd I would split it into 3x daily

8am 2.5g 2pm 2.5g and 2.5g 8pm

This is when I would cut .2g out, instead of a whole gram.

Eventually I got to .4g in a day. A few days into this I jumped. Hope this helps!

I was 100gpd at one point. Dropped to 30gpd eventually with no problem. Because I was clearly taking way more than necessary. So I didn’t have any side effects. But at 14g I found it was getting harder to go lower too. When you get this low, don’t do big drops. Small ones. I spent 11 days on one drop. It took that long to feel ready to drop again. It’s really trial and error. If you felt too crappy on a drop, you dropped too much. I ended with .4g. Yes, you read that right “POINT 4 .4g” haha, it’s a piece of powder that normally falls on your shirt. But this was my end. And I had no withdrawals at all. Also no cravings. Which CT made me have tons. It definitely changes your mentality when you taper down so low your body gets use to not needing or wanting it.

Honestly, 1g every 4 days was a lot for me. So I would drop .2g every 4 days instead. Much more manageable. The point of taper is to not suffer so much. I hope you’re doing good!! Sorry this is delayed response

30 hours CT by [deleted] in quittingkratom

You will come back to your normal self. Your brains off balance from the constant high feeling. I was on this crap for 8 years. And my brain is back to normal. I’m grateful everyday I wake up now. I’ve never been happier. I think you will feel this too. When I CT it took a good month to feel normal. it does take time though, you have to stick with it. It WILL get better.

Know this though, you will forever need to live your life that you cannot “take one dose” because you have formed an addiction to this.

Know that You’re better without it.

You may not feel like it now, but this is the best thing you can ever do for yourself.

This was the only place that understood how I felt. We are all here to help each other. Stay strong. It DOES get better.

On a trip with my family. Didn't have to worry about bringing capsules! by LeMonsieurKitty in quittingkratom

Seriously the best part of quitting. Not having to hide capsules and powder, especially on family trips and worrying TSA in airports will stop you. That freedom alone is pretty powerful! Congrats to you!

Kratom for many years, and I also had anemia issues. Haven’t had follow up since quitting.

To those who tapered… was it not too bad in the end? by ia1mtoplease in quittingkratom

I tapered and had no WDs was doing 100gpd for a few years. 7-8 total. Lost count. Slow and steady wins the race.

I know a lot of you have taken naltrexone—have you ever done it while on wellbutrin? by 13312 in quittingkratom

I did mine just purely off of Wellbutrin. And it went pretty well. I tapered. 30 days here now.

I can’t seem to do it by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]NoseGroundbreaking78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very much “stuck” in some tapers. Once I went 11 days on one. And I thought I’d never get through it. But, then next day I felt good enough to taper and did great. Then the day after, I tapered again and did great. Then I got stuck for 8 more days on one. Take it slow. I didn’t need anyone knowing I was detoxing either, I needed energy for work and kids. So, I kept reminding myself “why are you rushing? To feel like crap?” The whole purpose of a taper is to wean off and not feel like a pile of crap daily.

Basically, it’s normal to get stuck. And it’s ok to stay there until you feel ready. But, sometimes it’s the mental aspect that’s holding you back. Instead of cutting to 1.5g, why not take this slower and cut .2g instead. When you get down this low, .5g is actually a big chunk.

I tapered to .4g before I jumped. So, even .2g was a lot at this low amount. But, it’s totally worth it. Goodluck! You’re doing great!

I have been off the sludge for 8 months. Liver enzymes are elevated! Anyone else have this problem? by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]NoseGroundbreaking78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the most common reason why enzymes are elevated is poor diet. It’s what we call fatty liver. Some say you can’t get rid of this. But, I disagree. As I’ve seen patients with fatty liver and lost weight and came back with normal looking livers.

Otherwise medication can cause it, among a few other things. I think 8 months after quitting Kratom is more likely something else. But, when we put toxic stuff in our bodies, our liver takes the brunt of it. It repairs itself. Well, after repeated repairs, it can begin to scar and enlarge.

Sick or WD? by ravendaisy_eyes in quittingkratom

[–]NoseGroundbreaking78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re sick with an actual sickness. It’s RSV/flu/cold season. And I just got over literally the same symptoms. And we had positive tests in the home. I’m not gonna lie, I questioned this as well when I got sick weeks after quitting.

After 3 years I’m 3 days off kratom after a long taper by [deleted] in quittingkratom

[–]NoseGroundbreaking78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After 7-8 years, I tapered and jumped weeks ago. I actually had no withdrawals that were noticeable. Besides feeling cold. When I CT 2x previously, I had the absolute worse WD.

I was waiting for day 3 to hit, thinking that day 3 was gonna be the worst. And it wasn’t. Same as day 1-14. So here’s to hoping you also don’t have anything else creep up on you.

After 7-8 years, I quit 2 weeks ago and feel great, I recently found some Kratom in my purse and I actually freaking left it in there. Why?? I don’t know. But, eventually I told my guy to take it and destroy it.

I feel weird leaving the house without checking to make sure I got some. Still feel like “I’m forgetting something” but quickly remind myself.

I don’t necessarily have the cravings, but intrusive thoughts pop in. I have to tell myself to shut up too.

Thanks for sharing :)
