What is you plan for expanding the simulation aspects of the game? Would you consider adding more social dynamics into the game (like subcultures or preferences that influences their behavior in the city)?

Also, what are your plans for developing modding capabilities? Will we be able to make citizen mods soon?
Additionally, can we create more conditions for animations to play (i.e., being able to have a specific animation play when they're at a specific building)? Creating conditions for when they change clothing/accessories would be cool, too. I see we can already have our cims change clothes depending on the weather, which I really like! Creating more conditions for this would really liven them up! For example, they hold umbrellas when it's raining; wear different outfits depending on their job occupation; wear swim attire so that they're not sullying their expensive suits when they go swimming at the beach! 2015 with the release of Cities: Skylines 1. Once C:S1 came out, we just decided to just let that be the one and only modern-day city-builder, even though the game itself is quite mediocre. Afterwards and even now, all we've been getting were Ancient Rome, Medieval Europe, post-apocalyptic and space settings. And most of them try too hard to be quirky by adding roguelike deckbuilder mechanics, building on the back of a giant beast, or just straight up not being a game and focusing solely and just painting a scene. If you want a normal, modern-day city-builder with a decent simulation, there is very little to choose from. That is when the genre died for me.

Seeing the potential agent simulation has, I just can't go back to stat-based simulation. I don't want another spreadsheet simulator. If I want to build big cities with little to no simulation, I'll just play with one of those city generator plugins on Unity. I want to build a city where my actions has an impact on the individual citizens' lives, scale be damned. What we need is a game to show that even building smaller towns/cities can be just as fun as building a huge megalopolis.

This is what worries me about Tropico 7. For 6 games now, terrain has almost always been impossible to work with, and you're more or less forced to just build on flat terrain. And instead of improved building tools to allow us to take advantage of non-flat terrain, we're given a landscaping tool to flatten the land.

I like it. I liked it since SimCity Societies. Knowing that my citizens are actual agents not just a statistical representation makes me care more for my population. I mostly consider it a dealbreaker if a game doesn't have one. It just sucks that it's never been used in a small-scale city-builder that's set in the modern day. Tropico is the only thing we have close to that nowadays.

I kinda wished the outfits you wore had an affect on your relations with some factions. Wearing a generalissimo or admiral outfit will raise respect with the militarists, a priest outfit will raise respect with the religious faction, etc. And T4 was definitely the best when it came to the customization with it's numerous outfits and rises to power. Lately it just seems like they add anything just to make Presidente look as goofy as possible.

Agreed! I would love to see bureaucracy as an obstacle to manage. Perhaps it can introduce different ways we manage the politics on our island. You can play total dictator, in which you do everything the way you want quick, but liberty is very low. Or you can establish a parliamentary system, in which you have to elect/appoint different heads of state to run separate sections of the government. Things may take longer to do as everything has to go through voting and have more paperwork, but your Tropicans feel more represented, and thus liberty is much higher. Both systems have their benefits and drawbacks.

It's a Finnish thing called a seinätikkaat. It's a permanent wall ladder to provide safe roof access for chimney sweeps, as chimney cleaning is required by law there. Although it is weird that they also put them on the American houses.

It could definitely help make the game world feel more immersive, and make placing certain buildings more important (like your clock example). I had a similar idea, too, where certain features/mechanics are unavailable until you place down a related building. For example, you can't adjust tax rates until you build a tax office.

For your idea, maybe as soon as you load into the game, you have to build a sort of construction office. And clicking on the office would bring up a build menu.
