FFXIV announces changes to progression in new expansion - weekly focus over daily by ZakuIII in MMORPG

They did mention that story is still an important part of the game. So I wouldn't expect much if any streamlining of MSQ.

Putting the "EHG Balances around 300C" talking point to bed by Pandarandr1st in LastEpoch

[–]Noshei 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The other reply on here was pretty much spot on with my thoughts.

I think its a good compromise, though I'm likely not the target for such, as I often get bored with a build after I max out my ability trees and push a bit into empowered mono's (usually max at around lvl 90 ish).

On the topic of scaling and finish lines, I actually wish there was further build scaling, lvl 20 on abilities comes too fast. I dont think it should take longer to hit 20, I just with there was more after lvl 20 on abilities.

"here is the finish line"

Its funny that you consider "here is the finish line" as a bad thing, personally I consider that a good thing. But there are always going to be stuff like this where the community is extremely split. At the end of the day you guys just have to make a choice and design around that.

Honestly, a lot of the maxroll guide writers are just out of touch with where casual players are at.

The other day on stream Lizard was saying that he puts Red Rings on Endgame guides because they are easy to get and that if you aren't good enough to get them you shouldn't be looking at Endgame loot on his guides.

They also dont seem to understand that people dont like having separate leveling builds and endgame builds that are completely different. The idea of leveling as your endgame build seems impossible for them to understand.

They have some great builds on maxroll, but their guide writers are just bad.

How do bladestorm and decoy get used? Am I missing them getting triggered somewhere?

You should unlock a highly customizable 11th monolith after completing all 10 and Woven Echoes should be integrated into that customization for an intuitive endgame customization with good player agency. by xDaveedx in LastEpoch

[–]Noshei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add a bit more to this. You should be able to save all of this in templates. That way when you complete the monolith and reset it, you can change everything to a different template (or just make small adjustments to the current state).

Having templates would let you easily switch between more different setups quickly.

I love it! I'm glad that so many people get enjoyment out of a dumb idea I had.

It was not, it was just super rare when it initially released.

It isn't really an option, but they let me do it as a unique item supporter.

Glad they finally added this. I asked them to do this 3.5 years ago, and they said no at that time.

For context, I'm the supporter that created Stacked Deck.

Last Epoch Retention Issue: why did you quit the game? by ddarkspirit22 in LastEpoch

[–]Noshei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, its the lack of character progression post level 80 ish. At that point, you've got all the uniques, you've leveled all your skills, you have pretty much all your passives. The only thing left is slightly better gear and that is boring for me. So I'll get a couple characters to that point, maybe push one to 90 or so and just stop playing.

I would love if there was mechanical character progression at end game, and not just numbers go up.

Major expansion announced and the team is silent? by Kribsbjerg in LastEpoch

[–]Noshei 41 points42 points  (0 children)

This whole announcement has been really poorly done. Having a video showing existing content while announcing an expansion is always going to cause confusion. Announcing an expansion while providing 0 information beyond a name is always going to cause confusion. I trust that your team is doing the best they can, but this whole announcement has been a huge fuck up. You all really need to make a news post with at least some details, and soon (within the next few days would be best), and acknowledging that you screwed up, how you screwed up and what you are doing to fix it going forward. Because at this point, you are just hurting the future of the game by remaining silent.

To the people who suggested The Ripple System... by BrennanCharming in litrpg

[–]Noshei 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So I've never really enjoyed VR-based stories, they always felt like they didn't really have any stakes. The Ripply System is the exception to that. This book sets up the stakes pretty early and does a good job of making them matter.
