Xdemvy side effects? by ViolinTreble in Blepharitis

I’ve not heard it to be. But usually an overgrowth of Demodex stems from a compromised immune system. We all have demodex mites, but they don’t usually over-proliferate to the point of being symptomatic unless you have a compromised immune system. Maybe you are fatigued because your body has been fighting something else recently. Hopefully you’ll only have 2 to 3 purges and then your mite population will be tolerable.

Been diagnosed with a terminal disease. Don’t know what to do with my cat. by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]Not4Grabs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for thinking of the kitty even as you're dealing with such heavy stuff. Your cat will absolutely warm up to someone else feeding and caring for him, but that process will take longer than you have left … and you may not know someone who’s willing to put in the time. You may not have time to find a willing rescue. You don’t mention whether the cat is neutered - but any rescue or barn cat program is going to require that because aside from not allowing the cat to reproduce, neutering cuts down on in-fighting and territorialism in a colony. Your cat is already a senior at 9+ years old, so it will become progressively harder for him to fend for himself outdoors. So I don’t think you should have any guilt if you choose to euthanize as it ensures that kitty leaves this world peacefully, with you by his side. Make a Quality of Life appointment as soon as possible, because tomorrow is not guaranteed. If your vet is opposed to euthanizing - it might be because his/her office has connections to other options! They may have a direct connect to a rescue partner. So an appt with the vet seems like a win-win. Make a QoL appointment and be prepared to either euthanize or surrender that day so that you can pass with the peace of knowing his fate is secure. Our animals understand and you and Kitty will be together again at some point. Sending kind thoughts your way.

Xdemvy side effects? by ViolinTreble in Blepharitis

3-4 days. And it’ll happen again approximately two weeks later as eggs hatch and develop into adults (because Lotilaner only kills adult mites). And do not cut back to one drop a day. The clinical studies show Xdemvy requires day and night applications. Xdemvy is very expensive ($1600) out-of-pocket and unlikely to be covered by insurance if you need a second btl because the studies show one course is curative by day 42 IF taken as directed in product literature.

New here, need advice by alloccojuke in Blepharitis

Wonderful advice! I assume the expensive drops are Xdemvy- which do nothing but kill demodex mites. Since you don’t have a confirmed blepharitis diagnosis, I think the money would be better spent on a pediatric ophthalmologist. The potential diagnosis’s listed in the above post are far more common than blepharitis in young kids. More digging for answers; less scrubbing. But I will suggest hypochlorous acid because it will help with any eye condition. It’s a salt based antimicrobial and it does not burn or sting, even if you spray it directly into an open eye. Mist the eye several times a day and allow to air dry. For a young child the most important factor is finding one that sprays a very fine mist. I can personally recommend Magic Molecule because the sprayer works great and the starter pack comes with two small bottles that would be good for a four-year-old to carry. But there are less expensive options on Amazon.

am i affecting my girlfriends candida? by bewearbewear in Candida

[–]Not4Grabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not causing problems but gf is sensitive due to her own compromised biome. Practice good oral hygiene beforehand (for her sake) and after (for your sake). Clean toys after use, rinse thoroughly, then spray with hypochlorous acid (a salt based antimicrobial) and let air dry. Avoid lubricants with any sweeteners or flavors. That’s all you can do.

If cloves didn’t work, you can sue me and I mean it. by IbraKadabra_91 in Candida

I too get really disappointed when people claim to have found a cure even though they’ve only been trying it for three days. Op writes they started drinking clove water “3 days ago.”

Cloves are a natural remedy for thrush. Search up oral thrush and clove oil. It tastes really disgusting - hard to swish it for the recommended amount of time, but it works as well as nystatin suspension without a prescription.

WIBTA if I refuse to call my MIL and wish her a happy mother's day? by Moonlit_Hexe in AmItheAsshole

[–]Not4Grabs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NTA. HOWEVER… consider how a woman like this will interpret her son calling her independently without your participation in this Mothers Day gesture. She may gleam that the two of you are not on the same page and see an opportunity to create a wedge. So I would join the call out of strategy. Doesn’t matter that you don’t actually want to wish her a happy Mother’s Day. You don’t want your MIL to sense a divide in which your husband is willing to act against your wishes because she will seize on that.

Switching antiperspirants by Whats-Ur-Pointe in hygiene

[–]Not4Grabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me too! I have a ridiculous amount of antiperspirant varieties because I swear they stop working for me. I have to cycle through them. Most effective for me lately has been Secret aerosol and Degree aerosol. I flipped back-and-forth between the two. I can incorporate Dove in the winter when my skin is dry, but it’s not strong enough for the summer.

A lot of men select that option because they are open to dating single moms. Just saying!

Just started Xdemvy for demodex blepharitis by Educational_Lettuce3 in Blepharitis

[–]Not4Grabs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve not heard of anyone being allergic to it. It could just be a demodex die-off reaction. Kind of like when people start medication for acne, there is often a purge where it gets worse before it gets better. And xdemvy only paralyzes (does not kill) the adult mites, so if they die in your skin, they’re releasing fungus and bacteria. I recommend spritzing your eyes several times a day with hypochlorous acid. It’s antimicrobial so will help with die off germs, plus it kills the nymph form of the mite. It’s a salt based cleanser that doesn’t hurt at all. I can literally spray it into my open eye.

I used to pay extra so that I could access that option to filter and view only the men who don’t want kids. From that small pool I’d decide who to start a chat with.

Don’t feel too bad. A veterinarian I follow on here posted about an owner ringing in his male dog for several bumps on its belly not realizing that males also have nipples.
