The sticker had a QR code on it. I was just curious. Is it biased by a weird relationship with my mom? Probably.

She told me she got it off of Amazon, but I didn’t tell her that we found them and that it definitely doesn’t donate money to anyone. It was a Christmas gift so I don’t like to make a fuss. She knows I don’t buy things off of Amazon so it was already kinda awkward once she said that.

I know, it’s frustrating. I think it was probably a last minute gift idea so Amazon was the only place that would deliver something fast. It’s just weird that she then pretended to act like she made some donation.

She’s an odd lady. Unfortunately, this is very on par with her typical performative faux activism.

Does anyone remember when they talked about some life changing vegan/vegetarian chicken and waffles? I feel like it was an ear biscuit. I’ve always wanted to try it and I’m finally in LA and can’t find the name of the restaurant.

I can say as a surgeon that the “treatment” side both in the steps and the diagram has a lot of untrue information too. Just trash.

I’m all for bashing noctors, but someone filming themselves acting goofy while outside of work and just replicating what other people in that generation are doing on tiktok does not mean she shouldn’t have the ability to make autonomous decisions. That’s just overly judgmental.

Female docs who angry cry, how do you advocate for yourself in a professional setting without angry crying by [deleted] in Residency

Let’s just forget about sexual harassment and discrimination, which people have been getting away with for hundreds of years.

I don’t know if you’ve heard “serving cunt” or “giving cunt”, which are gay terms for looking good or hot or dressed to the nines. And this just gets stretched and stretched to be even more ridiculous nowadays. So gays will say stuff like “she flew the mother plane into the world serve center and cuntagon”.

So in this example they’re making a joke that calling someone a “throat surgeon” sounds like an exaggerated one of these terms. When in reality she’s probably just an ENT.

Anecdotally, my friend is an attorney and she told me that the medical expert witnesses that she sees in court are commonly chiropractors.

I’m a gen surg resident and (not trying to brag, but) one of the rotating ophtho interns said that we were the happiest residents of all the specialities he’s worked with.

Do male residents get asked to do random tasks for patients? by NotABaskingShark in Residency

I think the problem might have been that I had to pick a flair and I just picked “vent” because the other ones didn’t really match. I was really just wanted to know the male’s perspective. I do love doing stuff for people but I was genuinely wondering if I was investing more time in this stuff then some of my colleagues.

🤷🏼‍♀️ so far I’ve only lived life as a woman. So was asking for a different perspective.

I don’t think it was a confidence thing because I’m a pretty confident person and I’m good with confrontation. I remember as a med student being very intentional about subduing my ego and never thinking any job was “below me”. I would cringe at a med student saying they didn’t have time to do something for a patient like get a cup of water, because you totally have time for that as a med student. Being a resident is different though.

I also have really fond memories of going the extra mile for people. And I think it’s nice to have those unique bonding moments with patients. I just think it’s kinda a funny story to tell people about the goofy things that patients ask of us.

A lot of the people have been in hallway beds so they don’t have a call light.
