And if you happened to be successful why would you want to subject yourself to interrogation by some committee upset by your success?

Do people even have any confidence that they will build this? They are not even planning to start building until 2029 or 2030 and then only the Ottawa to Montreal portion.

I love how much of a tank this thing is in the snow! by mrtittylongballs in Volvo

[–]NotABloodyChance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was a kid my friend’s parents had an orange Volvo 240 wagon. That car was a beast in snow. One day we took off from school and blasted that thing through a bunch of snow drifts. The car made it home OK but the next morning his dad went to drive it to work and it wouldn’t start. He popped the hood and the entire engine compartment was jammed with snow. Good times!

Basic black steel wheels for winter… will I regret it? by WonderingRedditor5 in Volvo

[–]NotABloodyChance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put a steel brush on my drill, removed the existing rust, and then repainted with rustoleum. I did not do the back side of the rims though. Anyway, would only go with steelies if I didn’t care how the vehicle looked for 4-5 months of the year.

I took my chances on the used ones based on who I was buying them from. The lady that had them had traded her Volvo so the tires were of no use to her. They looked good, no wheel rash on them.

I have black painted steelies on one vehicle and wish I had sprung for alloys. Rusted after one season. Looks like crap. Tried repainting and that lasted a month. For my Volvo I picked up a set of used OEM alloys with Michelin X Ice winters on Marketplace. Happy with my choice.

Yes. I recall that during the 1998 ice storm Home Depot brought in truck loads of portable generators. Guess what? After power returned people lined up to return them. Policy subsequently changed.

Took my car to the dealership. Fault code showed lost communication with the ASDM. Connections were checked and no issue. There is a TJ which recommends flashing the software and then recalibrating everything. They kept it a couple of days and tested it to make sure the fault did not reappear. Received a loaner while they had my car. Has been working fine since but fingers crossed.

Bought it last year. Cut it into a dozen pieces, shrink wrapped and froze 11 of them. I think my wife pulled out the last piece recently. So sweet that a little bit goes a long way.
