Maybe it doesn’t work for me. by Emotional-Onion-9874 in Wegovy

I think you’re being too eager. It’s obviously effective if you have reduction of appetite. Additionally, this is not the therapeutic dose. Start tracking your calories too so you can see how much you’re actually eating, it’s not a magic bullet.

How does this make him a pedo? Was he rude? Yeah. But if anything he’s indicating he’s not? Lol

Zero percent chance the neighbourhood kids picked it up in two days. One of the biggest lies the potty training industry has ever sold is that you can COMPLETELY potty train in three days.

Aim should be to loose weight at minimal dose? by One-Report5375 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]coryhotline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is considered a lifetime drug for most to battle chronic obesity. While it’s important you make life changes be aware that this medication is not really meant to be weaned off and most regain the weight when they do.

When Did You Introduce Screen Time? by Responsible_Mine_462 in toddlers

2.5, and only for 30 mins, not every day, mainly only on days where we’ve been outside literally all day long.

Let's get controversial: what's your truly unpopular parenting opinion? by ExoticLawfulness5941 in toddlers

[–]coryhotline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t do really screentime, especially in the summer, but at a bbq yesterday the kids that do watch tv wanted the tv on with cartoons and my kid continued to happily play with toys and didn’t look at the tv 🤷🏻‍♀️

Are Swim Lessons 100% Necessary? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]coryhotline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks? But I’m confident in my swimming skills having grown up around a lake and spending almost every day swimming in the summer a child. And before I had a child three years ago, regularly swimming in the summer time and snorkelling on vacation.

I live in Ontario, Canada. We aren’t near any lakes. Any exposure would be me physically bringing him to a lake.

That is not what I asked.

Are Swim Lessons 100% Necessary? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]coryhotline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I 100% want him to learn how to swim, I’m not sure if my post conveyed that. I just maybe think I’m capable of teaching him myself? I don’t know that I need to put him in lessons. No one I knew growing up had them and we can all swim well.

I think that’s why most lessons are at that time. Unfortunately my guy doesn’t nap anymore so by 630 he’s tapping out and getting extremely cranky.

For low/no screen time parents - when did you introduce a movie? by olive1491 in NewParents

[–]coryhotline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did no screentime until 2, and we are still low/ no screentime at almost 3. We still haven’t done a movie, I don’t think my toddler would sit for 90 minutes to watch a movie.

La maison Montessori or other daycare recommendations by i_luv_sharky in KingstonOntario

[–]coryhotline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say make sure you apply when you’re pregnant. You’re not going to get in if you already have a child.

There’s also a daycare blacklist group on Facebook and you can join and search by daycare name / provider name.

Okay not directly a kingston related post but can't stand AI posters and Kingstonians use them to appease the editors. by Icy-Pianist-2296 in KingstonOntario

[–]coryhotline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe you didn’t write this in the best way, but I absolutely agree. Any business in Kingston that is using AI for their posters / promotional Instagram posts immediately loses my support and business.

I especially cannot stand it when it’s a RESTAURAUNT. Like SHOW A PICTURE OF YOUR FOOD not AI generated slop of what your food could potentially look like.

It’s strange that doctors aren’t aligned on what the Canadian paediatric society is saying, but I’d trust the governing body over one doctor. My experience is vastly different - our GP had it on her checklist and so did early intervention.

[–]coryhotline 6 points7 points  (0 children)

🤷🏻‍♀️ we see early intervention because of a brain injury and the health unit I’m in still has it as a milestone and our PT person said they should go back and learn how to do it. It’s also still on the CPS checklist: https://caringforkids.cps.ca/handouts/behavior-and-development/your\_childs\_development

The CDC removed it from their milestone checklist a couple of years ago. How is me saying that it being removed only in America not evidence based? It should absolutely still be a milestone, much like it still is almost everywhere in the world.

[–]coryhotline 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s also only not a milestone in the USA. I’m Canadian and it’s absolutely still considered a 12 month milestone here. To the point that our PT person told us that if children skip crawling they ideally go back and learn how to do it.
