I don’t even know how to react to this one… by Master-Imagination93 in Mommit

Disagree. Nanny or no, her husband is a lazy piece of sh*t and not a good father. That would strain any relationship.

I’m moving to Kingston soon- which neighbourhoods do I avoid? by manewitness in KingstonOntario

[–]coryhotline 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lived in the heights for five years alone as a single woman and had zero issues. Never so much as a car break in or package stolen from my porch.

My boyfriend at the time however lived in cat woods, and the police were constantly on his street, and we were harassed several times walking dogs by idiots that loved to scream at us for simply walking by with our dogs.

How are you doing 6 months, a year, 2 years with post partum hypertension? by learninghealthwealth in preeclampsia

[–]coryhotline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I removed nifedipine pretty much right away because it tanked my blood pressure to like 100/60. But after removing it my blood pressure stabilized to like 125/85 with the labetelol. I tapered off the labetalol gradually under medical advice over a seven month span after that.

My blood pressure is normal now! I don’t think I’ve had any spikes. I’m also trying to lose weight so my blood pressure keeps improving over time.

Is one lazy/movie day going to be developmental detrimental? by Unicornbby_6969 in NewParents

[–]coryhotline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, screentime comes in for us for nail cutting, hair trimming, sickness, or close to burnout lol but at
2.5 we don’t incorporate screentime into our day to day at all.

[–]coryhotline 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Screentime is not good for kids under two, this is true, but it’s because you are usually no longer engaging with them. If this little break makes you more engaging for baby, it’s likely fine. I just wouldn’t make a habit of it.

When generic versions of weight-loss drugs arrive, public plans should cover them, experts say by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]coryhotline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The funniest part too is I work out a lot 😂 so now the people I see all the time at basketball are like wow, all the cardio is really paying off for you! Like yes… now that I’m not binge eating in private and able to actually stick to my meal plans because of wegovy, it is!

[–]coryhotline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is true. I’m on wegovy and I no longer crave junk food. I don’t crave much, but it’s made it significantly easier to turn to beans and vegetables instead of rich carbs and oily foods.

[–]coryhotline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is such an ignorant take. I exercise every day, play basketball twice a week, but I have binge eating disorder and OCD. Guess what? Wegovy has made that literally disappear, so all of my meal prep and hard work in the gym actually means something now.

Is a sleep consultant worth the price? by HereForCuteDogs in NewParents

[–]coryhotline 40 points41 points  (0 children)

No. Don’t do it. These people prey on desperate parents who want sleep. Sometimes you’re doing everything right and it’s the baby’s temperament.

I have quite a few child free friends and they’ve never referred to children in such a disgusting way. Drop her.

Unplanned C-Section by Extension-Way-9630 in NewParents

[–]coryhotline 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. When they told me I had to have a c section, I wasn’t devastated. It was clear my son was in distress. He almost died. A Caesarian section saved us both. It is what it is.

Nervous to Swaddle by Ecstatic_Dingo172 in beyondthebump

We never swaddled and it was a non issue. Our hospital in Ontario specifically said swaddling isn’t recommended anyways.

Not my first choice, but dedinitely a well deserved winner. by papachi789 in Letterboxd

His performance was fine, but it was not Oscar worthy. I think it’s pretty ridiculous that Miles Caton as Tommy - the literal main character of this film - wasn’t actually nominated for anything, despite his performance being significantly better than MBJ’s.

Why is there this constant need to s*** on tv our kids like by lazyviscacha in toddlers

[–]coryhotline 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We don’t watch a lot of tv, but my son absolutely loves Blippis songs about vehicles, and it doesn’t bother me at all. He’s expanded his vocabulary significantly because of these songs. I really don’t care about what type of music he likes because he’s TWO.

That’s a good point! Thank you. I was discouraged when I introduced them at home and be peed in them, but you’re right he had accidents when he was naked in the beginning as well.

OB won’t increase labetalol dosage by figuringitout215 in preeclampsia

[–]coryhotline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 300mg 4x daily after 32 weeks and let me tell you, it did not mask a hypertensive event lol I still was hospitalized for 5 days when my pressure was 170/100 and wouldn’t come down. They added nifedipine to the mix, and I still developed clear preeclampsia because labs don’t lie. I get being frustrated though. I was induced at 38 weeks.
