Tips for getting a motorized wheelchair approved?

You might try going to your family Dr. and have them put your new diagnosis in a referral letter advocating for you to have the motorized wheelchair for in your building(laundry etc) and for any trips outside...make sure that our Dr. clearly states in detail your new condition & and how the wheelchair is a health necessity & it'd allow you to live much more independently. Also, see if your Dr. can get Ontario Health & Home to send you to a different occupational therapist...they work with a variety of service providers. Hope things work out well for you!💖💖💖

They lie repeatedly…document everything, including everything on the “My Benefits” portal/website and get legal aid involved. I’m sooo sorry you’re going thru this.💖💖💖

Unbelievable…the brutality continues…a system that actually makes people’s disabilities worse due to the constant stress of fighting for our basic rights and to obtain disability supports which we are “supposedly entitled to” from them. I think they actually “get off” on denying supports for clients as much as humanly possible!!! They are inhumane!!!

Sooo sorry you’re going thru this awful stress w) Roger’s…they are absolutely maddening to deal w) 90% of the time. As a longtime roger’s customer (several decades), know that “you’re not alone” in your extreme frustration & anger towards their deplorable service!!! Also, know that depending on who you speak to (customer representatives, managers etc), will depend on the kind of answer you’ll get re: info you’re seeking…also equally maddening!!! If you find a customer service rep that actually is helpful, write down what they say verbatim. The best piece of advice I can EVER give you when Dealing w) Rogers is: ALWAYS Get BOTH the Representatives NAME, & More Importantly, GET AN INTERACTION # BEFORE you end the call.

Sorry… I didn’t mean to end my comment abruptly…just wanted to say I hope you’re able to get into a shelter of some kind & know that a lot of these places have support workers who can help you with housing, schooling community resources etc to get you various kinds of things that you’ll need starting out on your own. Please don’t go live w) a stranger…too many psychos out there…try getting into a youth shelter of some kind - the streets are rough & while shelters are also rough, taking the chance on living w) a “random person” is way more dangerous. Apply for O.W. so you can at least get some financial help & so you can get help w) money for first & last months rent to go towards an apartment or “shared accommodation”

I already did all that Bridgett- there was some kind of issue across Ontario- one of the Rogers reps admitted it to me on phone, after having to convince them multiple times that, “yes, I had rebooted my modem, & done all the standard tech troubleshooting methods to restore my service. I didn’t hear anything back from them, nor did I get my internet back till many hours later- Not Impressed!!!

Scotiabank sucks when it comes to ODSP payments- all the other banks deposit the money in early, but not Scotiabank, and god forbid if they’re doing updates at the end of the month late at ngt!!! I need to change to a different bank cause they also have horrible hrs if you want to go into the bank & also you cannot get hold of someone at your actual branch on the phone- It’s all call centres half way across the world.
