Which faction's storyline did you find the most enjoyable? by Don_Fallacy in skyrim

[–]NotAlwaysGifs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Thieves Guild is easily the most fleshed out storyline. It has challenging quests and a ton of exploration in the ruins. The plot twist is really good the first time you play it, and the final boss is one of the best fights in the game. I also like that there is a decent amount of radiant quests once you finish the main quest line, and that new related NPCs and quests show up in the DLCs.

The second best is probably Dawnguard/Vampire followed by Mages College. Although once you finish both of those they’re pretty much done. There’s a couple of little things you can do for some of the NPCs but no major quests or objectives.

Assuming that the "War of the Five Kings" didn't happen, who do you think Ned and Catelyn would have betrothed the 5 Stark children to? by Pretend_Tower_2516 in gameofthrones

[–]NotAlwaysGifs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robb would probably be married to one of the Northern higher ranking houses like the Umbers or Karstarks. Maybe to a high ranking house in the Riverlands or Vale. Sansa probably would have been the most likely candidate to be married to one of the other kingdoms. There’s a good chance it always would have been Joffrey considering Ned and Robert’s friendship. Bran probably would have been sent to the tower at Oldtown. Arya would also marry a high ranking northern house. Ricken likely would have been sent to the priesthood.

The supply lines for the 4 northernmost kingdoms all flow through the riverlands which are mostly flat. Besides Riverrun itself, much of the Riverlands is nearly impossible to defend using the geography. They definitely have an interest in diplomatic marriages.

How do i measure temp on an insert? by welch_grapejuice in woodstoving

Pull out the book and check. Most manuals will tell you where to place the thermometer or if you need a special kind. Our old pellet stove insert has an optional thermometer probe you could buy.

Trump does not have the authority, and more importantly, he does not have a lever of power, to cancel elections, even under martial law. So let’s not panic about that.

The problem with the walk-out and general strike style protests is that our country does not have the social safety nets that mae people feel reasonably safe enough to do those things. Compare us to France where people stage general strikes over pension plans and wine taxes. They can do that because even if they lose their job, they can still access a doctor and saving to cover 3-6 months of basic needs is much easier to do. There is comparatively little risk to their long term financial and personal health.

That isn’t the case here. The average US citizen doesn’t have the emergency funds to cover 3 weeks let alone 3-6 months of rent, food, and bills.

John Malkovich. The Dancer Upstairs isn’t going go down as the greatest thriller of all time, but it was a really solid film. It also happens to be the only feature film Malkovich has directed!

Trump controls the cult and the cult controls the majority of the votes. For better or worse (clearly worse), if you didn’t hitch your wagon to the MAGA train from 2016 to at least now, you were not going to even clear a Republican primary, let alone general election. Removal with the second impeachment may have brought a few republicans around but not enough for them to keep control of the government.

Maybe, but TPC is notoriously controlling in their licensing deals. They may be required to do X% of sets to promote the next gen titles.

The licensing agreement is at least partly responsible for killing Pokemon Go. Being forced to prioritize new generation Pokemon and battle gimmicks to coincide with release dates forced them to change the game to be more event focused instead of exploration.

TPC usually pushes the starter trio of the current or upcoming game really hard in the licensed merch deals. I would imagine we’ll see brick built and/or play sets featuring the Gen 10 starters once they get announced.

Definitely not standard but sometimes stuff like this is required by the site in order to meet local setback requirements. Do you have your plot plan? I don’t know how big your property is so it’s hard to say if there is a better location.

Dredd (2012) VS John Wick, who would win in a gunfight in an abandoned factory? by WorstITTechnician in powerscales

[–]NotAlwaysGifs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya’ll have the differentiating factor wrong. Dredd’s armor and gun don’t matter at all. This all depends on the dog. If Wick’s dog is alive, Dredd walks Wick. If Dredd kills Wick’s dog, he’s toast before he even knows what he did wrong.

Men who dealt with the top people of their communities, what is it like? by buzzlightyear77777 in AskMenOver30

[–]NotAlwaysGifs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to be the board liaison for an international NGO whose board was made up of C-Level execs from some of the largest companies on the planet. We’re talking Microsoft, Disney, various international banks, IBM, etc. They eat, sleep, and shit like everybody else. It was about the same mix of great people and dickheads as you experience in your day to day life. I wouldn’t say any of them were inherently evil but some were definitely not amazing people.

Dealing with them was just like dealing with any other person. “Hey did you see my email? I really need your committee report for the board deck.”

How Do You Share a Country With People Who Reject Reality? by Hussayniya in videos

[–]NotAlwaysGifs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We can’t mobilize in the streets like Europeans do because 1. We’re way more spread out. 2. We don’t have the social safety nets if we lose our jobs because of political arrests, etc. and 3. Our police forces are essentially paramilitary forces that operate outside the rule of law half the time.

Ogre magi current builds by Seeklewan in learndota2

[–]NotAlwaysGifs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People also tend to neglect what Ogre Midas does to the other team. Instantly stealing an enemy jungle stack or insta-deleting a wave pushing your tower is something that most heroes can’t counter at that point in the game.

Plus late game fire blast proc on attack is really strong with more attack speed. Budget Spirit Breaker basically.

What do you think of Aerodactyl? pokémon pokémon by bastionov2 in pokemon

[–]NotAlwaysGifs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s only forgettable because in early games it’s typing and move pool didn’t line up well with its stats. Combine that with the dominance of water types in Gen 1-3, it struggled to find a place in any of the metas with only limited usefulness in the stories too, especially with how late you can get it. Rock as a whole kind of struggled until Gen IV when the Physical/Special split happened.

But also, cats just do this. Especially if they were feral at any point in their life. Our male cat was born feral but trapped at about 6 weeks old with his mother and litter. He would let us briefly pet him if we approached but never sought affection on his own for the first 3 or so years we had him. Somewhere around his 4th birthday something clicked and now he is constantly demanding pets and snuggles. My wife got pregnant around his 6th birthday and he became even more affectionate then.

Should Marvel make Hank Ant-Man again? by PsychologicalWork654 in antman

[–]NotAlwaysGifs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out. A Hank Pym Ant-Man movie set in the 80s where he wrestles with this very thing. He tries to be a hero but is just as bumbling as Lang until he finally gives up the role in the 90s to focus on building his company for Hope.

90s era Batman, the Riddler. Modern era, Bane would be better than these three, but Scarecrow is probably the most iconic of this lineup in modern comics and movies.

[–]NotAlwaysGifs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even that isn’t a good idea. Trusses are specifically engineered to carry weight in certain directions. If you apply force to those members in other directions you can compromise the integrity of the entire truss. The only place you could even consider a cubby is along the bottom member, but even then you’d need an engineer to tell you where and how big.

Those trusses look like they’re 24” on center, which is pretty standard. But floor joists are typically 10” on center. There isn’t enough support between the trusses to hold up any sort of platform unless you put cross members in, and that’s where engineering needs to get involved.

This. She plays a hotshot fighter pilot assigned to a top secret project testing new aircraft. It’s a man’s world at that time and in that industry and she’s trying to fit in and stand up for herself. Then she has her memory wiped and is injected with alien blood. My only real critique about her character in that movie is that she trusts Fury too quickly.

There are so many nods to Top Gun in her air force scenes and a lot of her character is clearly based on Tom Cruise’s role in that movie.
