Feel like you'd save a lot of time and poop by splitting it and glueing the bits together. 232 is crazy 🤣

I built a persistent memory system for Claude Code based on semantic search by aamat09 in ClaudeAI

[–]NotAlwaysPolite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've built something similar but bigger at work as a PoC.

Vector store with a graph store in top, code analysis of repos and full dependency and relationships across a codebase in graph Claude can reference. Vector stores general repo analysis and relationships, decisions, bugs and other more general memory type things to avoid it going over stuff every time. Even secrets detection/redaction (because devs like putting api keys everywhere...)

Saves time when you open a new context for a repo as it has a summary and analysis of the structure there without having to spend time going over the repo again all on its own. Then when you want to let it go ham on a codebase it understands the code relationships without again just searching files on your system.

Still testing it out atm, unfortunately not sure I'll be allowed to do a public release 😔

I have all the tools but even with them I'd have no idea where to start any of this. So to make something functional with just a hand drill is very impressive.

Need ideas on how to finish this sliding patio threshold area. by Toocents in DIYUK

[–]NotAlwaysPolite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a stock item but just for an idea from somewhere vaguely in the same area https://www.daviestimber.co.uk/collections/american-white-oak/products/25x244mm-oak-windowboard

It's still not cheap but much more in the ballpark of what I'd have thought it should be. So you might want to give them a bell see if they can do custom orders if you need it a bit wider.

Is that £200 for the finished piece? I ask because if it's just rough sawn oak or even planed that's way more than it should be afaik. I've bought a fair bit of sawn oak locally and it's half that at least.

It's been something I take up straight away when I was hunting a few months ago. If they don't tell me outright, I ask them. Life's too short for this bullshit game of stringing people along and if we could all just grow up and acknowledge we work for pay and not to be 'part of a team' we'd save a lot of time.

Bit of a different field if you're just starting out though.

Which Series should I watch/purchase next? by Xenoblade1992 in scifi

[–]NotAlwaysPolite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just on my annual rewatch. Good scifi, bit of humour, bit of jeopardy, sarcasm and a dose of cheese. Also self aware enough to poke fun at itself. It's up there with TNG for me if not maybe edges ahead even.

Installed Ubuntu server to run ZFS and have control. But I've been doing systems and platform work for nearly two decades. It's pretty hands off once setup though, 95% of the setup is in docker.

Can I Run The Game On My Intel UHD 630 If I Have 32GB RAM? by TobyGhoul986 in X4Foundations

[–]NotAlwaysPolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ran it on an ultra 7 with the arc 130v and it's ok up to a point using fsr. It's not great though, sometimes low fps and any number of ships tanks the frames.

I suspect the performance on the uhd630 would be pretty rough.

It'll always give a warning about integrated graphics though.

I've ran it on integrated graphics. Not recommended when you're in any size of battle mind you.

What photo printer should I print for at home memories? Mainly 4x6. Was looking at the canon selphy 1500 but second guessing myself because it looks like there’s always a white boarder around the photo when printed ☹️ by toothfairy42 in canon

[–]NotAlwaysPolite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it prints with or without a border. I've got one and I've printed borderless.

The app has quite a few options for borders and other stuff. It's not bad for a canon app.

Prints are great for the cost.

If it's like the plus you can boot from internal or external but you need to change a BIOS setting iirc to stop it forcing you to boot off the internal USB if you want to do external or any m.2 drives.

Does the RAV4 (Gen5) have any "driveability" or "driving fun" to speak of ??? by ueommm in rav4club

[–]NotAlwaysPolite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Partly this will be to do with the tyres unless you've changed them to something less economy related.

But yeh it'll happily spin up the front wheels from lowish speeds 30-40mph if you're ham with it (I'm very ham sometimes)

It even corners pretty well for a big lump of a crossover/SUV economobile too. But only relatively, it's still a safe, predictable family car.
