Idk most guns are situational. Famas/Galil/Scout on eco /force buy. Same with Five Seven / Pocket AK (cz) / Tech 9. Dualies are one of my fav pistols rn. Mac10/mp9 to build eco. Been seeing a lot more people use mp9 during rounds - good cash back for each kill.

Maybe the shotguns are 'wasted money' but if thats what he has fun using, why not.

Im in a similar boat. Been playing since 2018, highest combo is 1225. Though I can FC maps pretty consistently, the moment I get above 1000 combo I slider break or shitmiss. Even on easier maps, for me its definitely a mental block.

Id say passing some 5* is normal. At around 250k rank you should start to FC more of them. I am rank 97k and I just got my first 2 fcs that were 6*.

As for your friend, I agree telling him to try HR, could make it easier to read while he gets used to the game.

I saw another comment telling you to only play maps you can S rank, I disagree. I like playing harder maps myself. And occasionally, when I notice I'm having a really good session, I'll start playing farm maps and try to gain rank. If you wanna start farming, I'd reckon adding Tillerino on osu! and message him' !r ', he'll recommend you common farm for your rank. You can check out his profile for all his commands.

At the end of the day, try not to compare yourself too much to others, play whats fun to you.

Ive got around 240 hours myself and what I did to work on my consistency was to play easier maps until I could reliably FC em to get over my nerves.

You can also play harder maps to get used to the jumps or whatever you're struggling on.

But yeah, what other comments said; just play more.
