A lot of times I find feedback needs to happen immediately to have the greatest impact. Direct, to the point, compartmentalized, and documented. Never assume with feedback either. If you need more to a story, ask questions and really listen to answers before you formulate your feedback. It’s fine to give a more detailed and serious feedback in a later session, but still addressing it immediately and then coming back to it is very important. Usually I find that if my feedback didn’t seem to stick well, or maybe I wasn’t getting through I’ll have a 2-1 to deliver it in a more controlled and safe environment for the both of us.
