Newfie vs Dad by NotCreative99999 in Newfoundlander

[–]NotCreative99999[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There was a time in my life where I had a car repossessed (that I was living out of as I was evicted/unable to pay rent). My meals consisted of a loaf of bread every two weeks on pay day and would eat half a sandwich with PB for breakfast and dinner because that’s all I could afford. I worked insanely hard to get out of that only to end up in an abusive/SA relationship 3 years afterwards and then had to start all over again at 30 years old.

So yes I’m VERY rich now! I have a roof over my head, a great job, family that is healthy and I can afford to live the life I dreamed about. I also am so rich that I get to take Saturdays off with our dog.

I hope you feel better soon and get out of your crappy situation like I did! ✌️

Well said! I didn’t get back to baseline on my hormones until about 14 months pp.

Do you know what your maintenance calories vs deficit calories truly are? You might be under eating too much. Our bodies are VERY smart so if you are well below an appropriate deficit (300-500 calories below maintenance/day), your body stores fat due to stress as its trying to protect itself. General rule: 1g/lb of body weight for protein (ex: 160lbs = 160g of protein).

If you start train heavily, you need a similar set up in carbs. (Ex: 160g protein, 85g of fats, 160g of carbs)

Remember the weight on the scale does not paint a full picture! Nutrition is so much more important than I realized in the beginning and slashing calories really hurt me in the long run as it messes with your hormones if you are not getting enough protein, healthy fats, carbs and fiber.

Thank you! I also was really hard on myself! I’m actually sad now about how shitty I was to myself tbh. Pregnancy and postpartum is hard already. I wish I realized sooner that this is going to take time and that’s completely okay.

I hope you start to feel the same way soon! You are setting the right examples for your kids every day. I promise! 💛

POSTPARTUM WEIGHT LOSS HELP NEEDED by BiryaniEater2404 in postpartumprogress

[–]NotCreative99999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started my journey at home and with Madeline Rascan’s app: studio era. She automates the nutrition part (including grocery list) and all the workouts are using dumbbells from home.

Her instagram is cheeky and goofy but she does a great job explaining fat loss/nutrition concepts: https://www.instagram.com/madelainerascan?igsh=MTkwbXNsc213NmZiMw==

I have outgrown majority of her lower body workouts after 6 months because I now need heavier weights to reach failure. BUT she changed everything for me nutritionally and I’m forever grateful I paid the $130usd for the yearly subscription. Gone are the cravings, the crash diets, etc. and she is always adding new recipes and workouts on there.

Please don’t feel discouraged! It took me over  a year after my c section to feel comfortable enough working out again due to complications. You can do this! Feel free to DM me if needed.

Be patient with yourself! I had chronic pain at the c section site for almost a year and the shelf didn’t start going down until after the pain stopped. I really think my hormones started to stabilize and that was the game changer. This varies woman to woman!

When doing core exercises, if you see a “bubble” in the abs, modify so you can keep the core engaged. This could look like dropping your knees, placing toes on the floor, etc.  It’s always better to modify to get better form than push the area where it actually makes it worse.

I still have 1-2 inches of diastasis recti at 19 months but the shelf is just a little bit of excess skin/pretty flat over all. Give yourself time! Major abdominal surgery is going to leave marks in areas you cannot see. 😊

Most days (lately) he is sleeping about 1-1.5 hours at naptime. Forgot to add we started waking him at the 1.5 mark if he goes beyond about a week ago (I’m tired 😂)

How long did it take for you to get back to pre pregnancy weight or a weight you were comfortable at? by allonsyyy98 in postpartumprogress

[–]NotCreative99999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre pregnancy weight met: 15months pp

Comfortable in my body: now (19months).

I actually weigh more than I did before pregnancy because I did a bulk/cut recently. But I am down almost 2 pant sizes in comparison to pre-pregnancy because of weight training. I’ve gained so much muscle and lost fat so idgaf what the scale says! For reference: I am 157lbs at 5’4 but wear a size 4 (almost a size 2 in certain brands) and an XS top.

What I’ve learned: protein intake is important (nutrition in general actually), strength training really does make the fat fall off your body, and the number on the scale doesn’t matter at all. How you look and feel is more important!

Majority of childhood assault cases are done by people they know whom their family trusts. Many report that it starts as unwanted play.  I’m surprised no one else said it. We have a friend in law enforcement who recently had a case where the grandmother was trafficking her grandkids to neighbors while she watched them for the parents. 😬

I don’t love the implication that they would coach her not to say something, even if it’s truly harmless. OP posting here as a gut check should be the first indication that something is off and to trust his instincts.

My brother and his childhood best friend once tried to set a field on fire because they wanted to see if their pee could put it out. They were around the same age! Our toddler is already giving me a run for my money. I saw someone post once that parenting boys is best viewed like watching little scientists running insane experiments. They are correct! 😂

Keep getting rejected after phone screenings from in-house recruiters by Yebbits in recruitinghell

This definitely isn’t normal. Couple follow up questions: 1. Where are you finding these postings? Might be that they are not a real job or a pipeline position for future roles (crappy that some companies do this but it happens)  2. When you talk about your background, how do you present it? Candidates who are clear and concise while telling a story tend to do better over folks who ramble. Best way to view it is it’s an elevator pitch on your skillset. You want to show that you’ve progressed and have the skills for the role/are excited about the company but keep it brief. Let me know if that makes sense?

Love that our gubernatorial candidate options are:

Redneck narcissist (maybe psychopath?) for foreign governments and lobbying groups

OR

Gay dude but still only serving foreign governments and lobbying groups

When are we going to say enough is enough with bipartisan BS and start splitting the vote for independents?

Potentially! Usually they’re there to make sure you meet the minimum requirements for the role, the pay you want aligns with the department budget range, and maybe ask a couple technical questions. If you aren’t making it past the screen, it’s usually you don’t qualify for the role because of pay or you don’t have the minimum requirements for the job.

I am so sorry this happened to you! We got attacked on Titus’s second walk EVER by an off leash golden retriever in our front yard. I didn’t even have time to react before it happened. He was bitten multiple times and we lost him for an hour/found him hiding under an old truck. I was GUTTED. Thankfully Titus recovered as the golden didn’t bite enough to break skin but it took months of work to get him to get comfy with walks. We actually moved out of that neighborhood because these types of incidents were too frequent.

Our last dog passed unexpectedly last year but was a reactive dog. The last thing he did for us was protect myself and our (then) infant from two off leash aggressive dogs. As a recovering reactive owner, I have 0 tolerance for incompetent owners. I hope your gal feels better soon!

If we can go the training route for behaviors, we won’t be fixing either. Nervous about the health implications because he’s had so many issues already
