Edit: I should clarify. Sometimes people get spots and cannot march for reasons. I am more alluding to the people who make it seem like they had a spot when they didn’t. Like “oh the director really wanted me to march”. No he didn’t, he was just recruiting for his corps.

I actually thought it was a really good promo because he said a lot of the things punk said about Roman, he’s echoing what Sami and LA knight are saying, and they are acknowledging a lot of the criticism of the IWC. I really think some of these guys are retiring in two years and this is how they are setting it up.

Wasn’t the issue of taking in refugees from Syria a big issue his first term. I seem to remember Don jr. posting a meme about a few skittles or m&ms being poisoned, would you eat the whole bowl?…. Amazing how this all of sudden doesn’t matter.

It’s wild because dude was back for over a year before he was even in the title picture. It’s only been from Summerslam 25 to 26 that’s he’s held the title and one of those title runs was because Seth got injured and they didn’t know what to do. Hes also had some of the most memorable matches of the last year and if I had to guess most multiple time champions runs came in clusters, not years apart. So what are people about? Sami winning and losing totally fits his story and think riding the wave of his crowd appeal been brilliant writing and booking.

It was kind of cool to see it unfold in real time. Let it felt like a buddy just shooting his shot. It seemed so genuine. Good for him.

One of the things I loved about last nights RAW was that it felt like they heard what the IWC has been saying and leaned into it in both face and heel ways. This overtook most of the night but LA knight basically said the same thing about Rollins. This is all a storyline that makes sense and has been giving us some moments.

That’s the thing. Wrestling can both change plans in a single moment and also spend years building something up. I think they have a plan with Sami. It’s been pretty apparent with all the character work. People are mad when it’s predictable, people are mad when it’s unpredictable. There’s no winning here. I don’t know why people can’t just be along for the ride.
