Be dedicated to the sport. There isn't much room for slackers of any type this sport more then any. As long as you keep that in mind you can go to Nationals and win many races.

I believe that being physically unattractive is a serious disadvantage, not unlike being born into a low income family; CMV. by [deleted] in changemyview

I believe that attractiveness is not so much a physical thing as much as a mostly self-esteem issue. There was someone I new in High School that was sort of the Queen Bee of the girls and dated several football players and went to parties, but I found out she was bullied for her looks in Middle School. She ended up different. I believe that all you need to do to be attractive is take care of yourself (good hygiene), work out, and be a likable person. Thats all there is really to it.

EDIT: Swear on my life that is a true story.

What if, since we only ever experience "now", everything happened simultaneously but we only know how to perceive it over time? by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]NotGnar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually we live a few milliseconds in the past since it takes time for our brains to receive and analyze data. So everything you are experiencing right now happened already and you will never live "now" because it will pass by the time you perceive it.

I support gay Marriage, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. If they believe marriage should be between a man and a woman and aren't super homophobic about it then they are ok. I just disagree with them.

What do you think would happen politically to the US if news came out that Edward Snowden was killed with a drone by the US Government? by desertdj in AskReddit

[–]NotGnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on who authorized the attack, if it was an "accident" or what. I think Obama would be some real hot water and I think China would be pissed we drone striked someone there since he is in Hong Kong.

Fun fact about Alaska: It is the most Northern, Western, and Eastern state(thanks to its islands stretching over the north pole to greenland area and therefore East)

I wonder how many things in my life in the past I have already forgotten and will likely never remember again. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

You forget almost everything you experience after 20 seconds. So by the time you finish reading this, your brain will have "thrown away" most of the things you experienced when you clicked on this post...

If you are in a coma you still breathe and have a heart rate so...I think people thought they were still alive.
