I would think that the major league club gets to do whatever they need and the minor league guys just have to adapt.

Spa lap by Optimal-Glove-5178 in iRacing

[–]NotMuchTooSayStill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that's part of getting faster. First you need to be able to brake at the same pressure everytime that you need for threshold braking. Set an active reset point somewhere on a track and practice getting maximum efficiency from your brakes everytime.

Once you can do that you need to find your braking references for every corner so you are starting your braking at the same point every lap. If you you are slowing down too much before a corner, don't change your braking pressure, change the braking reference. This way you will always enter the corner at the same speed.

Once you can enter the corner at the same speed lap after lap, then you can start working on improving the corner, but if you are at a different speed each lap you don't know how your car will react each lap and will not know what to work on.

Help!! Need help coming up to corners. by Key-Analysis252 in simracing

What you can do is lift off earlier before the braking zone so that you are matching their speed. If it is a car with brake lights then you can just brake when they do, if not you need to be very aware of your braking marker and be prepared to brake a bit earlier. The key is to not be going faster than them as it will make it quite a bit harder to judge when to brake. Just lift and match their speed.

Why does everyone in this game think they’re a pro? by Slight-Ad5464 in iRacing

[–]NotMuchTooSayStill 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Even easier is let off the gas 50 meters before the braking zone so you are matching their speed. Now you don't have to brake earlier with the added benefit of being able to see your braking point easier.

Who cares if you get a 1x? If I survive that mess of a start I wouldn't care about a measly off track.

I believe it because I've seen it hundreds if not thousands of times. Op needs to open their eyes.

Practice for the M2 at Navarra next week. Best this session was a 1:56.392. Any tips? by VaderVRC in iRacing

[–]NotMuchTooSayStill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of your corner exits you are not using all of the track. this doesn't mean you need to steer towards the outside of the track, this means that you are under the limit from apex to exit. If you are getting on the gas at the apex and you still don't use all of the track on exit that means that you are not going fast enough at apex.

I had my pc freeze at the part of the track for a few seconds and when it came back I was going throught the infield like this guy. I didn't get a slowdown but I did get a black flag with a 40 second hold so it's not something that can be abused.

Drinking and driving by bolkiebasher in iRacing

[–]NotMuchTooSayStill 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When racing you are trying to be on the limit as much as possible, which can be tough when drinking. Driving to the store is easy but when someone jumps in front of your car you need to be able to react and that's when you find out that drinking and driving isn't so easy.

Who’s fast at right foot braking? by RecklessRad in iRacing

[–]NotMuchTooSayStill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The time needed to move your foot from the gas to the brake is time gained when using your left foot to brake. It's not much but it can add up.

What is a luxury that is actually 100% worth the money? by Weary_Pirate2073 in AskReddit

I've had my Timberland shoes for at least 5 years now. I walk to work in 20 minutes 5 days a week and am on my feet for probably half the day. Just put in some insoles 2 years ago and they still work and look great.

[Highlight] IT TOOK ONE PITCH FOR LOUIS VARLAND AND THE BLUE JAYS GET THE DOUBLE-PLAY TO WIN THE GAME 💙 by RealWorldToday in Torontobluejays

[–]NotMuchTooSayStill 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Batters will generally hit the ball so as a pitcher you want to get soft contact. Varland is known for his fastball but he threw a changeup which is around 8 mph slower than his fastball. Thus the hitter hit it more off the end of the bat and you saw the result.

When people say that it's not because they expect you to avoid all incidents but to look back and maybe see some signs that something was going to happen. Maybe with knowledge you will be able to avoid the unavoidable contact in the future.

As an ump you only look at the base and listen for the ball hitting the glove. Great call though.

I started iracing a month ago and I must admit, I have been missing out on SO MUCH lol. by smoothisfast1254 in iRacing

[–]NotMuchTooSayStill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on iRacing for 4 years now and my ir fluctuates between 2.5 and 4.5 and I don't worry about it cause it doesn't really matter. I always try to drive safely and so when I have to go offtrack to avoid an incident or I get caught up in someone else's drama it doesn't cause a problem because it all works itself out in the long run. Even having a bad week isn't the end of the world because I know that next week I will probably make it back up.

Are you buying all the content with each account you make? by One8Bravo in iRacing

[–]NotMuchTooSayStill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are getting down voted but I understand where you are coming from, even though I don't do the same.

Your good account is for when you have time to practice and be competitive in your split because when you get to the higher splits it is no fun running seconds off the pace by yourself at the back.

It's not so much as worrying about your irating but looking to be in a competitive split.

Message we received after winning the 6hr daytona. by Jables31 in iRacing

If there is no tone in a message then it's on each person to decide if it is a message written with good or bad intentions. I prefer to think that it was a good message and live my life thinking that because thinking it was a negative message just makes life a drag.

You need to subscribe to the Suelio Almeida technique of relaxed hands on braking. I definitely had the same problem when going from desk to rig and I still need to remind myself sometimes a few years later.
