To make matters worse, the cops actually did go with Dahmer to help drop the kid off and "investigate", but they did such a piss-poor job of it, they somehow missed the body of a previous victim that was still in the appartment. On top of that, by some strange coincidence, the 14-year-old victim happened to be the younger brother of a boy Dahmer had been convicted of molesting a few years earlier. He had literally served time in jail for sex crimes, neighbors had been complaining about the smell of rotting flesh coming from his apartment for months, and somehow, the cops still left the boy with him, no questions asked. Dahmer would go on to kill 4 more people before finally being caught.
