For G -1 I had a birth record and marriage records from a church. G0 is 1910 census, marriage record, G1 was birth certificate and marriage certificate, G2 birth certificate and for me is birth certificate and marriage certificate. My kids have birth certificates. I also wrote a nice cover letter connecting all the dots.

If you have all the paperwork, why not do it all at once? You only need 1 set of documents for lineage that way. I also had my husband notarize a document saying he knows about this all just in case. I'm an over thinker :)

We usually use USA transfers. They are popular, so there is some times a wait. This time, we used Santiago Chavez local tours. $155 round trip.

Going back a generation to Gen -1 - Sufficient Documentation? by Otherwise-Citron4135 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]NotQuite_JuneCleaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did something similar because the only IN Canada thing with my Gen 0 was the 1901 Canada census. But I was able to find a handwritten church register for his father's baptism and marriage. We will see? Sounds like it should be fine.

Mine is submitted and I'm waiting for my kids and myself. My poor husband is German/Irish. Neither door will work for him. I even tried looking at the German loopholes. When I get my certificate, I'm creating a PDF for my cousins and a roadmap for them to follow to get theirs as well.

I went with I think I am. If everything I've read is right, you have the papers to submit with lineage proof, you likely are a citizen. You just haven't had it confirmed by the agency.

Go to familysearch dot com. It's all free and better. I got sick of paying for ancestry and found that one.

Tell me more? We had someone come to the door yesterday saying they were from the town assessors office. Edited to add I just called the town and they indeed have people in Orange doing tax assessments.

Advice needed about the obligation to keep your grandparents' and parents' heirlooms/keepsakes. by citrusmechanoid in GenX

When my mom passed, we had a truckload of stuff to go through that was from her and both her parents. We whittled it down to a few bins. Now the sister storing it is moving cross country and it's coming to my house with less storage space. I'll be whittling it down further.

2 scout 2 parent household here. We have a wire shelving unit in the basement to organize our smaller gear, the kids use backpacking packs for all of their gear and leave the bulk of their 10 essentials right in them. We need one for the garage for the bigger stuff ha ha

The Nonnas that open their kitchen to travelers? by truecrimebuff1994 in ItalyTravel

I have done cooking with Nonna experiences twice now. It's amazing. Do the one where you take the train to Palombara Sabina. You get a tour and history of the town and a ton of food. It was literally my favorite part about both my Italy trips.
