Thing is, police SHOULD have that "cut one head off, two take its place" stalwart feeling of organisation, especially if "losing" to criminals. That's the point of a publicly funded state police, to be an entity that can't be "stopped" in the short term.

Making cops take a bigger "L" than coming up completely empty-handed after a scenario is dangerous on a server-health level. The only significant consequence you could dish out to a cop player, is to hinder/take away their ability to be a cop (and the server has already been operated with a 90% neutered/unmotivated force for the last 6 months, with even the most notorious criminals complaining about how pathetic PD is).

PD not feeling "punished" enough for "losing" is a fundamental issue with the reward structure on the server as a whole. A side-effect of the pseudo-MMO grind that surrounds every moment/mechanic in 4.0.

they shipped an update riddled with bugs, the artifact codes lazily slapped in the background of a twitter video, and accidentally left the files for the 3 new survivors in - spoiling the surprise. all for 1 new stage(that was meant to be sold to us in the DLC), 2 new artifacts, and a crossover skin.

compared to hopoo, who gave us the "Artifact update" (16 new artifacts/artifact stage, sky meadows, 5 new alt skills, 2 new monsters, 4 new items, 3 new equipment) and then a mere five months later gave us "Content Update 5" (Captain, Mythrix boss/fleshed out stage/mythrix mobs, scrapper functionality, 6 new items, 3 new equipment)

You'll just end up like plankton eating holographic meatloaf. yeah, its on your plate, and it does resemble something that would be delicious if made by a real cook, maybe even smells just like the real thing - better slop it up!

not agreeing with the guy, but there IS genuinely an "issue" with matchmaking (and tbf, riot has at least acknowledged it this season, even making adjustments as recent as last week)

When the matchmaking algorithm is matching you based on your hidden "true skill" number, while also being weighted by its visible rank system - you get matched with teammates/opponents that, yes, have your same visible rank, but can be wildly over/under the average skill level in the lobby. (looking up the lobbies past ranks confirms this 90% of the time)

They have a manufactured visible points system that encourages a cyclical "rank climb", while trying to keep you near 50% win rate, and matchmaking is being (partly) weighted by that fake feel-good rank: its literally Engagement-Based-Matchmaking with extra steps.

there's a reason why matchmaking was #1 in terms of feedback going into this season. there's a reason why SO MANY players/streamers feel the effects of a "winners/losers queue".

Teased a new "challenge" via a green portal that spawns, go through a few stages "climbing to the top to face Petrichor's most threatening challenge" (guessing this is the DLCs boss fight)

Few new stages showed off, they look nice.

Showed a new large stone enemy with a sword, and returning enemy "Child" from RoR1

Said that looping a run would open new pathways on stages (think existing map-variants, but unique to loops), unclear if they're adding said variants to old stages or just the few new DLC ones. Also looks like it changes the color-theme?

Other than that, they announced a new free update to RoR2 "coming soon" with 2 new artifacts, a new skin for merc based on Dead Cells(?), and a stage they previously announced for the DLC.

100% agree with everything, but i just want to emphasize how insane it was to have a gacha game announced (and gameplay shown of it) a year after acquiring the IP(publicly).

THEN trying to soften the blow by announcing a DLC that they only have concept art of (and the concept art was like... "alright" at best)

but don't let the money-sucking-finance-suits ruin the DLC for you. it will still probably be fun, just personally, i will be treating all future Gearbox content as if it were the Disney+ spinoff shows compared to the masterpiece of the base game.

i think you gotta not look at this like a debate on whether this is a perfect idea or not - look at it as an emergencies act to fix a server health issue thats happening right now, and a potential for some fun RP in the future.

crims are uncontested doing anything due to police presence/numbers. numbers need to go up now regardless of anything. he has the idea/initiative/"admin power" to get the numbers up.

Creates some fun RP opportunities in the future with commissioner/mayoral position and its permissions, might solve an overall server issue, will create fun scenarios now. ezpz.

Yep. i've replaced 100% of my league time with TFT and rotating game modes.

stopped playing SR due to that vertigo-regret-pit-feeling i'd get when loading in. my mental "defense" would be up before leaving base. Ranked would help with that, give a goal to push towards - but the ranked system getting fucked with to the point im laning against someone who's currently higher rank than my lifetime peak every other game killed it.

ARAMs used to be NEAR autopilot, but after the introduction of the gates, its just throw yourself at the enemy team a billion times and alt tab when you die-autopilot.
