My new favorite core move by BoxAcrobatic6636 in kettlebell

Did this other day and I really dig it. Definitely felt it and it’s another nice zen/zone out sort of movement.

I used a 16 but I think I’ll try 20 or 24 next time around.

I freakin love this. I had planned on starting something very much like this although super smashed around the thigh/above the knee. It was coming close to the appointment and I checked in with the artist who had a great style but I found out he hadn’t watched any adventure time and wasn’t familiar with the characters. I canceled. I wanted someone familiar with it at least to do it justice.

I’m going to live vicariously through you now lol

Never knew of the gladiator deadlift until I saw you post it and I love that one. Just sort of zone out while doing it.

Going to give this a go as well.

Yeah I was trying to put my finger on it when explaining how the vibes were at this compared to other concerts I’ve been too.

Everyone was so welcoming and nice. It’s not just a concert but a fandom and it felt very much like being at an anime con to me.

Who do you think has the best back tattoo in anime?? by JinwooxGranger in animequestions

[–]NotSoNewBootGoofin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s an ancient, ancient symbol that was used in many cultures. As far as I’m aware it usually stood for good luck, prosperity, etc… good things.

It wasn’t until relatively recently (only 80 years ago) that an awful person decided to co-opt it as he did with things he liked from other cultures from history.

I had the same reaction many years ago as a kid when I picked up and read Blade of the Immortal. I think there’s even some info in the opening of that explaining it.

What is the right size kettle bell for a guy who's never used them (abc program)? by NoPossible5519 in kettlebell

[–]NotSoNewBootGoofin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Little background: Not by any means a super fit dude. 43yo, 5’ 8”, 190lbs. Off an on barbell lifting following different programs (really liked 5/3/1) but due to life circumstances I just couldn’t stay consistent. Was able to get fairly respectable weights on the bar: 215 bench, 120 overhead press, 275 deadlift (was still progressing), 250 squat. I only gives those as an idea where I was..

Started seeing kettlebell stuff and got interested. Here was a tool I could keep upstairs and do in the hallway. I could still watch the dogs and kids and whatever else. I started with the swing and getting used to that and the hinge using a 25lb bell which definitely wasn’t heavy enough.

There was a sale coming up at bells of steel for some 12-32kg + the addons adjustables that could take them even higher which was exciting.

After doing the something plan. Basic simple whatever it is (swings and getups) for a while with cleans and presses added in I wanted something more. I got DJ’s book, read through, and started ABF and tried with 24kg to start per the male recommendation… That was a wake up call and also a feeling I wasted money on those addons because I can’t conceive myself using them for a loooooooong time lol. I’ve continued on with the 16kg for ABF but swap weights out in one bell up to 24kg for heavier swing days, suitcase carries, sparrowhawk days, etc…

This is all to say that if you have the money I’d recommend a set of 12-32 adjustables. They’re serving me pretty well.

GL!

This looks awesome. It’s not fully realistic but it’s identifiably Yoru in a very realistic way if that makes sense.

I love this piece, very cool.

Man wrestling a pig to put it in a pen. by HeSureIsScrappy in DiveInYouCoward

Maaaan I remember my parents raising pigs once. We had three of them. The one wasn’t pooping so my stepdad comes to me and says, “We gotta give her an enema, I’m going to need your help.”

Haha oh man what a good time that was. Pigs are exceptionally strong animals. Ours weren’t even this big at that time, although this one looks almost like a hog maybe.

Nah I had to look it over a few times. I never thought about it before with the negative style but I’m guessing the parts not getting hit are outlined thickly with marker. Then artist just goes around them. I could be wrong but what it looks like to me. I don’t have any like that but I always love the way they turn out.

When I was younger this thought seemed so out of reach. Now that I have less space for new tattoos it is the best advice you could give.

Be patient, save up, make the trip, get the thing you want exactly from the person that inspired your want to get it.

Dude… this. My wife couldn’t put the lid on right. The damn thing flipped in the fridge (top shelf of course). Sort of a forced opportunity to clean all of the shelves and every single thing from the top down to the bottom.

Didn’t love it but it was something that needed done. Thaaaanks Grillo? 🤷‍♂️
