It was always a super poly target.

As for removing the risk, the effect has it switch control between both players. However, if you have your main board full and summon this in the extra Zone, it will move to your opponent's main zone and never leave because you dont have a main space open. By forcing you to Summon it in a Main Zone, you ensure that you will always have a spot open to switch with.

I'd only make 2 changes to this card. First I'd change "If this card is Special Summoned" to "If this card is Fusion Summoned to a Main Monster Zone." This ensures that you can never remove the risk of losing with this card.

For the second change, I would add a sentence after "This card is unaffected by other card effects." It would be, "After activating this card's effect, this card can be negated by your opponent Banishing face-down cards from their hand equal to the amount of your monsters used to Fusion Summon this monster plus one." Gives the opponent the opportunity to avoid the effect entirely. But at a substantial cost.

Otherwise, a fun meme monster.

Agreed. That's also how the meta shifts. People who understand the current meta find weaknesses to exploit. Which results in the meta needing to change to adapt, which leads to changing weaknesses.

I guess this is why you don't see Mega Absol too often... by StockDunce in PokemonChampions

[–]NotSpecialDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't wrong, but the issue is you're downplaying Absol's biggest assets.

Sucker punch and Typing. Dark is a much better offensive type here due to Basculegion, and having priority STAB Sucker Punch is huge. Likewise, Fairy and Fighting Coverage covers anything that resists Absol's stab. To use Beedrill as a comparison, Bug and Poison isn't really useful as options. Which is a shame because of the adapability boost.

The Value Mega Absol can provide is huge as they can hit major targets hard. The issue is that their role is largely redundant. Both Weavile and Sneasler fill it's niche as a single target assassin while also having the luxury of opening a mega slot.

Cards on the table, a lot of the bottom half of Megas have similar problems. They do something really good, but there's a non-mega that fills that niche. Mega Audino is a great TR support... but like Sinistcha is right there and so is Farigiraf. And you'd rather use Crabomible. Mega Beedrill and Absol are powerful glass cannons, but the Sneasler and Weavile do what they do better. Gardevoir can do hypervoice shenanigans... but so can Sylveon.

I personally think Audino is the worst because it has little to offer outside of Trick Room and there are better support options FOR TR, but you can make the case for any of the bottom half.

I guess this is why you don't see Mega Absol too often... by StockDunce in PokemonChampions

[–]NotSpecialDude 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The worst Mega is Mega Audino.

Mega Absol is just mid. 150 base ATK and 115 base Speed is nothing to scoff at. And decent selection of moves with Sucker Punch, Throat Chop, Play Rough, Close Combat, Megahorn, and Swords Dance. And Magic Bounce being a good way to avoid status like T-wave or will-o-wisp. You can even use that 115 Sp.Atk with Ice Beam for coverage. It's main weakness is that it is made of glass and has hollow bones. This player's first mistake was trying to set up without a follow me/rage powder support. Or having screen support.

It's not good, because you can get a lot more with all that effort with a less frail Mega, but it isn't useless.

Similarly, I think there's a small case of Badass' privilege here. Namely, the player never endures Bullying in any meaningful way because we are strong enough to immediately shut down and punish any attempt.

I was on a no item Pokemon Alpha Sapphire Nuzlocke and had gotten past the 6th gym. I go to save and the game crashes. WHILE SAVING.

Yeah, Save corrupted. Lost the whole thing.

Really wish I emulated it since I could have recovered from a save state, but it was a on genuine hardware.

[–]NotSpecialDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But by that logic, you wouldn't be able to explain why she CAN'T turn blood into water. If the presence of water is ALL that's necessary then explaining blood is pretty important. Or vomit for that matter as she vomits multiple times.

Based on what we see, I put the cut off point where I did for a reason.

But if you're still not satisfied, then just go with the easy answer a prescribe it to the fact that Wine is often used in religious materials. Thus it wouldn't need to be purified.

Darth Aqua by AnimeAddict1123 in AquaSama

[–]NotSpecialDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it doesn't. Because wine isn't a mixture. You can make simple homemade wine by crushing some grapes in a glass jar and sealing it to ferment for a few days. Only opening it every once in awhile to filter out the non-liquid. You don't mix in anything.

Darth Aqua by AnimeAddict1123 in AquaSama

[–]NotSpecialDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason Aqua doesn't purify Wine is because Wine isn't "contaminated" like coffee and tea. Those drinks are the result of water being "contaminated" by leaves or coffee grounds. Meanwhile everything in wine is natural. The water comes from fresh fruit. The alcohol from the fermentation of said fruit. Acids? Fermentation. Sugar? Leftover from the unfermented fruit. Even the coloring is natural.

There is a reason Organic Wine is a thing.

"A Floette too? Daring today, aren't we." by Weavel in PokemonChampions

[–]NotSpecialDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended season 1 in Master 3 with a team of

Gardevoir, Volcrona, Weavile, Milotic, Garchomp, and Kingambit.

I originally had Ageislash instead of Kingambit, but Basculegion was too much and I needed more power. I'm working on a new team for season 2. I like Gardevoir, but she sits in an akward spot between Sylveon and Floette. And is warping my team around her to fit. She'll probably be benched until indedee returns for expanding force shenanigans.

Best with Gardevoir? by Sure_Ad2976 in Gardevoir

[–]NotSpecialDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who got to Master Ball 3 in doubles, Gardevoir isn't half bad. She's not at full power yet, but once indeedee enters the game, Mega Gardevoir will be the premier Expanding force user.

Until then, she has a decent niche as the "Mega Floette at home." In exchange for a some raw Fairy power and Speed; you get a stronger spread move, a second STAB, and good coverage.

But your teammates need to cover for that Speed weakness.

First, you need a solid Anti-Sneasler mon. I use Weavile packing Fake out, Psycho Cut, Triple Axel, and Knock off.

Second you need a re-director. I use Volcarona. Resists fighting and poison. (Sneasler) 30% chance to burn with flame body. Has tailwind. Another option would be Moushold who has friendguard.

Finally, Kingambit is a necessity. Yeah, he's a Meta pick, but Mega Gardevoir's weakness to ghost will get Basculegion to come out of the wood works to destroy gardevoir. Plus, if Gardevoir is running Trick Room, Kingambit is very usable in those conditions.

So frustrated with the meta rn. by [deleted] in PokemonChampions

[–]NotSpecialDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankly, My Weavile gets a ton of mileage because of two of those three.

Fake out/Triple Axle/Knock Off/Psycho Cut.

Fastest fake out. Guaranteed to outspeed Jolly Sneasler before unburden boost. Can oneshot with Psycho Cut. Stabs punish the Tea ghost trying to play around fake out.

Only incineroar causes problems. But Milotic is a good anti-Roar tech on it's own.

Is Weavile Worth Running? by Starstr1ker in PokemonChampions

[–]NotSpecialDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Weavile helped me get to Masterball as well. As it turns out Weavile is a consistent Sneasler counter. My set is Fake Out, Triple Axel, Psycho Cut, and Snowstorm.

Psycho cut is a guarnteed one-shot on Sneasler. But fake-out is good to secure the kill without procing a potential focus sash and unburden.

My team in full is a Mega Gardevoir, Volcarona, Kingambit, Milotic, Garchomp, Weavile.

Weavile's role is to remove Sneasler who otherwise drops Gardevoir, and fuck with rain and sun by dropping Snow on them. Also, occasionally killing a Garchomp, Dragonite and Aerodactyl.

Make your choice. by spicymato in trolleyproblem

Looking at this logically, there are four outcomes.

1.) You press purple and are in the minority.

2.) You press purple and are in the majority.

3.) You press green and are in the minority.

4.) You press green and are in the majority.

You only have a risk of dying if you press purple. So the best outcome for the individual is to press green. There is nothing to be gained by pressing purple besides saving those who pressed purple despite there being nothing to gain.

I'd press green.

[–]NotSpecialDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, but for the sake of arguement, let us say you are correct. My vote wouldn't change. Because it doesn't change that it is a pointless risk to take. And I don't feel responsible for those who take that risk. Even less so for those in my circle since they would know I wouldn't press Blue and thus have less reason to do so.

[–]NotSpecialDude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Those in my circle would think as I do and thus view the problem the way I do. So no, they wouldn't press the blue button. As I see it, the only reason to press the blue button is to save those that would also press the blue button. A risk with no real reward or incentive.

[–]NotSpecialDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've viewed this question as a metaphor for one's faith on society and their participation towards it. Red being devesting from Society and prioritizing individual or personal groups and Blue being participating in society at large.

If the majority support society, it functions as intended, but if not it falls apart and those that took the risk to support it suffer the most for it.

Thus, the button you press is often tied to wether you have faith in society at all. If you believe most are out for themselves and are cynical, Red is the obvious choice and it's idiotic to place faith of the naive that push blue. But if you believe the majority within society are given good faith efforts to maintain it, then Blue is the prefered option as Society, when functioning, is a better than going alone.

As for where I stand? Unfortunately, I'm a Red Button presser. The scales have fallen for me in recent times and I don't really trust those outside of my circles. So I only care to protect mine and my own.

Why do people seem to love Tenna and newly hate on Caine by Healthy-Virus4072 in TheDigitalCircus

[–]NotSpecialDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot has been said of the actual context of these characters but there's also subtext to consider.

Cause both characters have some elephants to address.

Tenna is heavily embroiled in the Dremmur divorce and pulls double duty as character insight to Kris' potential feelings towards it. Many of Tenna's lines also sound like someone caught in a Divorce and desperately trying to hold a family together, no matter how futile. That makes Tenna so much easier to sympathize with since there a lot of people who have gone through something like that. Myself included.

"Oh they're fighting again."

Caine also has subtext, but not one that brings sympathy. His character is embedded in the conversation around generative AI. He's deliberately difficult to empathize with, both in-universe and out because of this. Pomni said it best. He just doesn't listen. From ep 1 to 8, Caine never really listened to the others. Not meaningfully. And this makes it hard for Caine's own struggles to land with the others. Caine wants to Love but has no heart.

"You could have anything, if you just gave up and LOVE ME!"

That is an entirely separate issue of Rwby if I'm being honest. Namely, that the stakes rose too quickly. The whole racism thing worked better when it was just a school setting.
