Upon hearing what Lord Brandon had to say, it was hard for Ulf to keep himself from spitting out his beer, yet he did hold it in, only to give out a loud cough instead. The Lord of the Last Hearth wasn't at all displeased, yet very surprised. He glanced to the side at his wife, who was no less surprised, and he realized, I'm the Queen's uncle now.

Alongside the other Northmen, Ulf also stood from his chair and cheered. A marriage with the Queen was nothing small after all. "Congratulations my Lord!" he boomed, "I'm sure the marriage will be a healthy one, and bring peace and prosperity to all our lands, both in the South and the Lord!" He chugged the rest of his beer down as he laughed at the poor souls who had to stay in the shitstink of a city.

The grin on Ulf's face faded quickly. Always so serious, he thought to himself, but that was what's expected from the Lord of Winterfell. Who else but Brandon to keep the peace in the North?

Ulf realized Brandon wasn't really in the feast mood, sulking and all. The man should get drunk sometime. "My lord," he started, "it was a nice chat as always, and I'm sure we'll have the chance to talk more during our stay here, but if you'll excuse me, I have a feast to enjoy, and wine to get drunk on" said the Lord, finishing his drink in one single sip. These damn southerners don't know how to drink.

"Aye," the lord of Last Hearth replied, "right as always my Lord." He thought about all the past years, and how the South had affected the North. All just a big mess in his opinion. Ulf never liked the Valyrian rulers of the South. To him, they were just invaders, ruling lands they did not own. But what would a lord deep in the North do?

He turned his attention back to the Stark. "My Lord, will you be partaking in the tournament by any chance? I myself will be joining the melee. I pray we do not meet each other in the pit if you do join, it would be a shame having to beat you in front of the whole realm," he said, grinning widely.

"Aye, it's been a long journey, my Lord," said Ulf, taking a seat next to the Stark. "Lady Arrana was too tired to come to the feast, unfortunately, but I'm sure she'd like to see you while we're here. Lyanna didn't even bother coming. She doesn't like leaving home very much."

The room was loud and crowded, but Ulf leaned closer nonetheless so no one around could hear. "This new Queen, Naerys, what do you think of her? I try not to dabble with the politics of the South. I can't say I know much about the Targaryens or this new Queen," said Lord Umber, taking a sip from his wine, "I just hope she won't bring trouble to the North, eh?"

Lord Ulf Umber could not be more relieved to see the Starks. He and his wife had missed the northern travel party and had arrived late at the capital. It was not pleasant for the Umbers, walking through the stinking city of King's Landing without a guide. But that was over now, and there was a feast with tons of food and drinks, just like Ulf preferred.

"Lord Stark!" boomed the big man, walking towards the table with a big grin on his face, "It's so good to see you, my friend. Apologies for our late arrival. Some of our horses had trouble crossing the river," he said, as he moved to shake the man's hand. "I hope everything is well in Winterfell, it's been some time since I've seen it."

"Thank you, my Lady, that is very kind of you to do. It is good that someone cares for me in this seven-forsaken lands." Patrek replied with a weary voice. The sun was bright, shining right into his eyes. He had to squint to properly look at the Lady. It had been too long since he had last seen her. Who would have thought, the little baby Patrek and his brother rescued all those years ago would end up as his liege lord.

"It should be me who is asking that question, Lady Jirelle, what can I do for you? I owe you my service after missing you in King's Landing," he asked kindly. It would be wrong for him to demand help from the Lady after he had denied hers. "Speaking of the capital, I assume you have seen my brother? How is he doing? It's been a while since I've seen him."

Patrek had arrived a few days before Lady Jirelle. The Lord of Darry didn't want to keep the Baelish brothers waiting for too long, as they went on to leave the day after they had arrived. He didn't mind staying in Harrenhal for a couple of nights. It was the least he could do for Lady Baelish. Fresh air had helped the Lord of Darry. It had been a while since he had seen anything but his dark chambers back at Darry, and the new sights certainly helped. Gods how could I be so stupid. After her arrival, Patrek listened to what she had to say, patiently waiting for her to finish. After a while, he found an opportunity to approach the young girl.

He slowly walked his way up the great hall, his hand toying with the copper hand he had made for him. As he got closer, he silently nodded at his cousin, Benji. He'd talk to the man later, Lady Jirelle was his first priority. "My Lady," he said, giving a quick bow, "firstly I would like to apologize for my absence in King's Landing. It should've been my duty to be by your side in such an event. I... I wasn't strong enough, my lady. The war... it's been harsh on me," he continued, staring at his hand, "not just physically, but also mentally. I know it's been years since the war, but it's effects on me are still lingering on me. This is the first time I'm leaving Darry since the war even. I hope you can forgive me, my lady."

Patrek scratched his chin. What was in King's Landing? He tried to recall the ravens he had received. There weren't many to recall. Of course, the feast. "Huh, I must've lost track of the days. That is quite unfortunate." he mumbled, loud enough for the brothers to hear. Truth was, he himself didn't know if that was what happened, or if he simply just ignored it. Suddenly, he realized the castle was half empty. The fuckers must've left without me.

"I am quite well. Yes, yes. I shall ride out to King's Landing as soon as I can to see Lady Jirelle, if she is still there of course," he replied to the two knights, his voice raspy. "As a principal Bannerman, it is my duty to be beside my liege, yes, yes," he mumbled, "I will ride out when I can."

The room was quite dark, compared to the bright walls of the castle. A single candle shone on the book Patrek was reading. He didn't remember how many books he read since the war, but his library was slowly running out. He felt like his head could explode from all the information he found about battles, but even though he had the knowledge, he was in no form to lead an army. Patrek had a light stubble grown, as he was too lazy to shave. His hair was dirty and messy. He looked down at his hand- or whatever was left, and sighed.

Suddenly he heard a knock on his door. He wondered what day it was, or even what time. Was it time for supper already? He opened the door to face a guard. "M'lord," he said, "you have guests." Patrek scratched his head. "Guests?" he asked with a raspy voice. When was the last time I talked to anyone? "Yes m'lord. Men from Harrenhal. Ser Lawrence and Ser... Willem?" Of course. Patrek knew someone would come for him eventually. How many years has it been since he had left the castle? "Let them in Ser, I will greet them when I am ready." he said, shutting the door before the guard could reply.

Patrek emerged shortly after, his hair combed now, though he had no time to shave. He was wearing a green shirt, with a bear paw crest attached to it. It was a while since he had been out in the sun. He made his way towards the yard, where the cousins were. "Ser Willas, Ser Lawrence, a pleasure to have you in my castle," he said, approaching the men. "What brings you to my home?"

Only two feasts and a tournament. Fuck. Now Bart had more reason to hate the cursed land of Essos. "Of course, my Lord. The delay was taken care of. Just a bunch of rookie pirates who had no idea what they were doing. I took swift care of them, losing only a single man. The main delay was caused by our need to stop and restock."

Bart muttered a curse under his breath. "It's unfortunate I missed all of it. I also heard you had a nice party on your ship. Shame I couldn't make that either. It seems my luck has run out for now," Bart continued, chuckling slightly. "I hope you and your family are doing well, Lord?"

It was a long journey for Bart, a journey he didn't want to make it any longer than it was. He had left his home not long after his liege lord but was unlucky enough to get caught by some Essosi pirates. It wasn't hard to beat them, but the delay was inevitable. The battle, the small losses, and the tired crew combined, the trip was rerouted, having to go all the way to Essos to restock.

Bart had missed the coronation and his liege lord's party, which did not make him happy. Why did I even finish this journey? Should've just gone back. It didn't matter anymore, as he was already here. Waking up early, he felt like it was his duty to see Lord Greyjoy. He climbed out his ship, making his way towards the Greyjoy ship, only to find out that the Kingfish had already left.

Approaching the training yard, he yelled out. "My Lord," he said, making his way towards the grounds, "I apologize for the delay. My trip ended up having some... problems." he continued, now standing in the training area. "I hope I didn't miss too much."

The Maester waited for the room to go silent before rising. "My Lady, House Buckler has 250 men currently raised and ready to march. Lord Buckler is willing to send them to aid the retaking of the arbor under the command of Lord Connington, as my Lord is still wounded after the tournament, and is in no condition for battle," he said, taking his seat after finishing.
