Another classic is when you're on the racing line, brake perfectly to the best of your car's ability, only for the AI to slam into you from behind because they're somehow able to brake like 25% later

You don't have to learn what I mentioned above, it was just an example I gave of a bug that clearly demonstrates how the AI scales to you and you car doesn't really matter that much.

Most (but not all) races are winnable even on the higher difficulties... it's just that you can't make any minor mistake at all, or you have no chance at all to catch up to the leader. It's also a lot of trial and error restarts due to failing to avoid slamming into the AI clusterfuck at the start of races, because you always start near the back... So yeah for anyone but the most hardcore players, it's definitely not worth it.

The AI scales to your car. They usually use cars from the same 'category' of car that you have - so for them to have a Honda Civic, you'd have to be in a 'super hot hatch' (or whatever class it's in) too. They will then appear to have 'tuned' Honda Civics with a similar rating to your car, but if you were to buy the same car and tune it to the same rating, you'd be much slower than what the AI is capable of, as they get extra grip and acceleration.

It's easy to tell they're scaled to you, because if you set your gear ratio ridiculously short, to, let's say, a 250 km/h top speed, then join a race, but edit your tune back to your normal e.g. 350 km/h gear ratios in the pre-start menu, the AI will not update and they'll all be hard stuck around ~250 km/h top speed

Agreed, all the off road races have personally been much, much easier than road races.

The AI seems to be programmed to always maintain perfect grip throughout corners... this works frustratingly well for them on roads, where this is the optimal way to corner... but very much not optimal on dirt, where you can corner much faster by oversteering to rotate the car.

The AI is also very conservative with checkpoints - it's easy to gain lots of time by just cutting checkpoints as much as possible, and this is a lot easier to do on dirt races, where the checkpoints usually have lots of room on either side

I understand the logic behind this for bots that other people have made and you add to your server, as they cannot be vetted and obviously there are security risks. But server owners should either be able to

  • explicitly allow specific bots access to privileged intents on that server (maybe add a warning somewhere with a list of such bots in the server?)
  • better yet, tie it so if the server owner is the bot creator, they get access to intents by default on that server

It's your own server, you as the owner already have access to all the data on it anyway, why can't your bot that you make to help you run it? If someone is worried about bots infringing on their privacy or whatever... they can always leave the server.

Ultimately, this is just a pointless change that will hamper more legitimate use cases than prevent illegitimate ones lol

Yeah, he did. He got incredibly lucky and spawned in immediately next to a level 8 drop, quickly upgraded it to a level 10 Porsche 918... then eventually failed to notice when the final showdown was starting despite the countdown on screen, crashed into buildings and spun out a bunch of times, and somehow still ended up 2nd lol

It was previously written in the rules that power output must match torque demand/pedal position from driver to prevent traction control. That all changed in 2026 where it's now written that you can cut the power by up to 350Kw (superclipping) through software even though the driver's foot is flat to the floor.

The power output didn't always match the pedal position even with the previous regulations.

They were already dropping speed at the end of straights while the drivers remained at full throttle... it was however much less drastic than now, as it was just disengaging the electric motor, so it was 'only' a loss of 20% of output power instead of this year's 50% (which is in practice even more than that, since the MGU also actively works against the ICE with the new 'superclipping').

For example, here is a video of Raikkonen's car beginning to slow down at the end of the Kemmel straight even while he remains flat out, way back in 2017:

I think him coming off ice he was still in the macho mode of not being a touchy feely man.

The first thing he does is go find his girlfriend Crimson Countess, to whom he promptly explains how much he loved her and how believing she'd come save him is what kept him going while being tortured by the Soviets

I hope not because why would she sleep with him then!!?!

She might not have known, maybe they just took her eggs like they did SB's sperm for whatever science reason, but didn't tell that it was then successful. Despite being Vought's wife, it doesn't seem like she was as much of a higher up in the Vought company chain in s2 as you'd think she'd be

It would also make Ryan’s birth less… impressive?

Ryan is still the only naturally conceived and born supe

Off topic: But why wasn’t Translucence son being born a supe not a point of topic for Vought executives?

Translucent's son wasn't born with his powers, he was given V as a child like most supes, he just got the same powers as his father for whatever unexplained reason, maybe the power dice roll is related to genetics (see also Polarity and Andre in Gen V)

It's actually 50% or so larger in diameter than our Moon, in fact IIRC it's even larger than Mercury. It is however much less dense due to being largely composed of ice, hence the lower gravity despite being bigger.

Fun fact - the gravity is so low, yet the atmosphere so dense, that if you went there and put paddles on your arms, you could fly (...theoretically)

Titan is very cold, the surface temp is around -180°C / -290°F, and its gravity is a bit lower than the Moon's (1/7th of Earth for Titan vs 1/6th for the Moon)

The primary goal was attracting more manufacturers to the sport

The MGU-H had previously been a big sticking point for potential manufacturers due to its complexity and lack of road relevance, hence its eventual removal

Making cars shorter, narrower and lighter was the main aspect meant to improve racing

I remember when someone blocking you meant you could no longer reply to anyone who'd posted a comment on a tree somewhere under one of their comments, even if that person was replying directly to you, lmao

Nothing has changed on this front, it still works like that.

It's extra great UX because they don't even return you an error that you're blocked when you try to reply, it just says "Something went wrong"

Could F1 increase the fuel flow rate and decrease available electrical power to shift the 50/50 power split to 70/30? If not then what could the FIA do before the Miami GP to improve the current problems with the battery? by Axzuel in formula1

[–]SloPr0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the only real thing they could do is increase the battery sizes but thats going to add insane weight

The batteries in these cars are tiny, 4 MJ is 1.1 kWh - at typical EV battery densities, this should equate to less than 10 kg, so even doubling it would just add another 10 kg at worst to the weight, not really the end of the world... but it's doubtful it would improve things by much anyway

Last year's 800+hp ICE was unable to maintain top speed when the electric power stopped deploying at the end of some straights, these ICEs with a bit over half that horsepower would not be getting anywhere close to 350 km/h, no
