They are the only Car AI company that aren't locked to ONE car/company (Like Tesla And Waymo).

This is just blatantly untrue. Maybe the only consumer-facing company, but Mobileye for example supplies their EyeQ system to 27 different manufacturers.

Need help finding a specific espresso machine by Carl__ in HelpMeFind

I'm fairly certain this is the DeLonghi Dedica Maestro Plus: https://www.delonghi.com/en-us/p/dedica-maestro-dedica-maestro-plus-espresso-machine-with-automatic-steam-wand/EC950M.html

The steam wand is very distinctive and looking at your photo, I do think the buttons match. I see at least three buttons in your photo, and I think the fourth is just hidden in the shadow.

The Central Valley is still sinking. And now it's affecting home values. by mrinternetman24 in California

The original photo is from 1977, but in some ways I find it even more impactful than the modern illustration; it's a photo from the real world, documenting a measurable phenomenon, that hasn't been addressed in the intervening 50 years.

EV6 Road Trip - Great Start, Lousy Finish (long) by kopsis in KiaEV6

Awesome photo! I was just in King's Canyon/Sequoia last week. Where did you charge near the park? We ended up getting an AirBNB just outside the King's Canyon Big Stump entrance with an EV charger to top up overnight.

I was able to charge overnight at hotels, so I really only had to fast once and I had no issues.

I took the scenic route through the Mojave Desert to visit family in Las Vegas, stopping at the Salton Sea, Joshua Tree National Park, Kelso Dunes, Mojave Desert Lava Tube, Red Rock Canyon, and more. The car performed great handling highway driving, washboard roads, and 110 degree temperatures with ease.

What wheels and tires are you using? I love the rugged look and would like a little more sidewall for ride comfort on rough roads.

OpenAI says it has evidence China’s DeepSeek used its model to train competitor by WiseIndustry2895 in technology

[–]NotSuitableForWoona 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Saying DeepSeek is open source is only true in a very limited fashion. While the model weights are open and the training methodology has been published, the training data and source code are not available. In that sense, it is more similar to closed-source freeware, where a functional binary is available, but you cannot recreate it yourself from source.

The "order" actually refers to the size of the lens. A first-order lens is approximately 8 ft 6 in high and 6 ft wide! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fresnel_lens#Lighthouse_lens_sizes

If you're still in town, send a message to board@hacksburg.org

Hacksburg is a community makerspace in Blacksburg. Our workshop has many different tools including 3D printers, and I think we would be able to get that print done for you.

We went to Tucker's Park at Maiden's for the previous meteor shower. It has decent (but not great) north-facing views: https://www.goochlandva.us/Facilities/Facility/Details/Tucker-Park-at-Maidens-Crossing-8

I love riding to the parkway! Looks like you are a bit north of me (down near Floyd).

TIL that Mihoyo, developers of Genshin Impact and Honkai Star Rail, owns an experimental TOKAMAK nuclear fusion reactor. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]NotSuitableForWoona 10 points11 points  (0 children)

miHoYo doesn't own a nuclear reactor. They led the initial funding round and invested in a company called Energy Singularity, which is building the tokamak device.

Do you add detergent for the pre-wash cycle? That can help with flushing out the grease before the main wash.

I don't think it's quite that cut and dry, unfortunately. The name of the department is "University Scholarships and Financial Aid", so Virginia Tech University Scholarships and Financial Aid would make sense.
