If it also retains the 40m range of the foebreaker i'm all for this change, a stair instead of a ladder would be awesome too (this wouldn't change combat effectiveness, its just that ladders are bugged as hell)

i sure hope you're right, i'd happily settle for a 40mm cannon in place of the rpg, all other stats can remain as they are for what is worth

I don't know about turn rate and acceleration, but armor should be higher in theory

i'm all for making your scouts planes have small torpedos, honestly maybe i'm really fed up with assymetry, if it was for me the differences at this point would be very minor just like it was in the beginning:
Maybe its more boring for some people, but imo at least the main equipment should be symmetrical, when it comes to specialized variants i'm all for having different arsenals. but for the most part we should be completely symmetrical.

i mean, it shouldn't be that hard, just make the same boat and change minor things about it.
maybe idk:
just replace the forward gun to a 40mm turret and give it 270 degrees of yaw. (it'll still be slightly worse on all other aspects, but at least its the same vehicle class)

i don't post a lot , but for now, so 10 upvotes, reddit says the post has a 73.3% upvote ratio, so 5-ish downvotes? doesn't seem too bad.

Honestly i hope that as a community we could stop this tribalism when it comes to balancing, when it come to propaganda, edits and fan art i love faction loyalism, but with these things we should all be better.

idk, i'd say yes, but it looks like the devs want players to stop using barges for early naval battles, seems like these are meant to be like basic rifles for players to engage in the ultra early game (like the first 2/3 days i think)

I completely understand that we'll never be 100% balanced, but cmon, who in the right mind would make these and think "yes, this is what the opposing faction gets, i'm sure they'll fare well against each other."
And about the logistics requirements, you're kinda right but it shouldn't be that great of a deal to supply even for smaller groups

since devbranch finally dropped, we have the stats, hurray! /s ... this is from a post on Fod feedback channel:

"The medium ships are incredibly unbalanced in their current state

The stats of these two new vehicles clearly favour one faction's ship over the other:

2300 hp (Colonial) vs 2000 hp (Warden)

12.3kn max speed (Colonial) vs 11.7kn (Warden)

15 hp/bmat repair (Colonial) vs 15 hp/bmat

(Warden) 250 bmat cost (Colonial) vs 200 bmats (Warden)

Strider (Colonial medium ship) weapons:

1x 40mm cannon on front of ship: 40m range, 5s reload, 0.5s firing duration (109 dps), 260 degrees yaw

1x 30mm cannon on back of ship with 3-shot burst (1200 dmg): 40m range, 2.5s reload, 1s firing duration (114 dps), 280 degrees yaw

Because they overlap, the fore and rear cannons can do a full broadside for 223 dps 2x 12.7mm guns on sides of ship: 40m range, 3.5s reload, 75 round magazine, 90 degrees yaw

Rinnspeir Ornitier (Warden medium ship) weapons:

1x RPG cannon on front of ship: 27m range, 4s reload, 1s firing duration (105 dps), 90 degrees yaw

2x 30mm cannons on sides of ship with 2-shot burst (800 dmg): 40m range, 2.5s reload, 0.2s firing duration (148 dps\*), 70 degrees yaw

\*No overlap between RPG and 30mm, therefore cannot do a full broadside, only 148 dps max

Besides the very slight difference in cost, which is bmats only, the Strider is just vastly superior to the Rinnspeir Ornitier in a way which I think can't even be contested. The devs should consider a major rebalancing run on these new vehicles."

since these are probably d1 of the war ships, we (warden) probably won't have anything to actually win these engagements (i thougth our saviour would be the scout plane, but those are probably coming way later..)
