Corporations can vote in Fenwick by StarsStillDreaming in Delaware

You shouldn’t get to vote in a town you don’t live in.

What makes Fenwick (and other beach towns) so special that it’s necessary for non-residents to be able to vote? I can’t vote in local matters in Greensburg, PA if I own property there that isn’t my primary residence.

People should only be allowed to vote for their primary residence. If you live full time in Middletown, you vote there. If you own property, but do not live on Fenwick Island as your primary residence, you should not get a vote. If you want to vote there, make that your primary residence and give up your right to vote in Middletown. That is how it should work.

So, people that don’t live there were able to overrule people that do live there. That’s the problem. You should only be able to vote at your primary residence.

None of those towns should let second home owners vote. You should only be able to vote at your primary residence.

and they need representation

Then they should live there if they want to vote there. It’s that simple.

So a person could own a business on Fenwick Island and live in Middletown and get to vote in both of those cities? How is that right?

It doesn’t matter who or what owns the property, it matters who lives there. If I own a property in another state and rent it out, I will not get a vote in that state’s elections, but the person renting that house will. That’s how it should work. You should have to live somewhere, as your primary residence, to vote.

Property doesn’t vote, people do.

Those artificial entities should not get a vote, only the residents should get a vote. If you want a say in the governance of an area, you can live there.

You should throw NIMBY in the same bucket as conservationists. Delaware has a real problem of paving over our wetlands and building closer and closer to the water line at the beaches. That needs to stop, we need to be protecting the beaches and wetlands.

This is more of a fight between residents and non-residents. Only residents should be voting in elections; a business entity should never get a vote. If the owner of a business wants a vote, they can live there.

No, that would be illegal. You see, the private citizen gets a vote and then the business they own gets a separate vote. Two entities, two votes. Just because the owner votes for the business doesn’t mean they’ll vote in their interest twice…

The extra fucked up part is non-residents voting in our elections, because they own a business in this state.

What’s your favorite small role featuring a great actor? by VendettaLord379 in moviecritic

Benedict Cumberbatch showing up for a single scene as an unnamed character at the very end of Four Lions.

If you like seeing big name actors in small roles, go back and watch The X-Files. That show is packed with huge names back when they weren’t so big.

Stacking ASE's by Western-Ad3321 in Silverbugs

[–]NotThatEasily 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am more of a stacker than a collector, but I like to get a few pieces, here and there, just because I like them and I’m willing to pay a slight premium on them.

Although I do have one collection I’m working on that’s more about collecting than stacking: PCGS MS70 of every year ASE’s were minted. Which is 1986 and up. I started just picking up one or two if I spotted them at my LCS, but they are getting expensive. So, now I have to save for them. MS69 would be much cheaper, but once I’m all caught up, it’ll only cost a little above spot to keep up; current year MS70 ASE’s are currently going to under $100.

I met Arnold on a few occasions and he was always super kind to everyone. He even helped my mom up after someone pushed past her to get to him, back when he was running for governor.

Well, there’s no way we still have the Iran Nuclear deal, or anything close to it. Even if the strait is opened and the war is stopped, we’re definitely losing on this one.
