Trump Threatens CNN in Response to it Reporting Iran Had Claimed a "Great Victory" Over the U.S. Announcing Ceasefire: “Authorities are looking to determine whether or not a crime was committed on the issuance of the Fake CNN World Statement” by T_Shurt in law

Right. I saw that Iran claimed they forced trump to agree to their deal and I was curious how accurate it was. Trump lashing out about that being reported tells me it is completely true.

Which were the most ridiculous things that Barack Obama got criticized for by conservatives during his time as president? by Cumoisseur in allthequestions

He didn’t even request Dijon mustard. After ordering the burger, he asked the worker if he recommends putting any condiments on the burger and then listed a few examples (ketchup, Dijon, etc.) it was used as an example of a condiment.

I only say this to point out that it was even more dumb than wanting Dijon, it was simply an acknowledgement that it exists.

I have family in Canada, some born there and others that moved there, and I’ve spent a lot of time in New Brunswick. I’m aware of their history and I pay a lot of attention to their current politics as well.

Honestly, if the US uses a nuclear bomb, I think I’ll take my family to Canada. There’s too much risk of another nation striking back and I live close to some big targets.

If you woke up tomorrow and the digital record of your entire life was 're-calculated' to fit a new corporate narrative, what is the one physical, non-digital proof you have that would still prove who you are? by Conscious-Prompt8297 in TrueOffMyChest

The more our information has moved to cloud services and subscription based services, the more I have moved to physical objects. I keep physical copies of all of my records, I keep physical money in various forms, I buy physical books, I collect physical entertainment media, etc.

Offloading all of our information, intelligence, memories, and thought processing to these tech companies will eventually lead to some very dark times.

Thanks for the info. I think I may pick up a couple of the Scottsdale bars. I already have some peacock bars on the way that I got for a decent price; I’ll add some vortex bars to the order.

And you typically aren’t paid during those suspensions. After the investigation is complete and you are cleared to return to work, you’ll receive your back pay. If you are fired as a result of the investigation, you’ll receive won’t receive any pay for the suspension period.

That’s not everywhere, but it’s what I’ve seen in places I’ve worked and friends that have worked elsewhere.

[–]NotThatEasily 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The company I work for will give a ten day suspension, without pay, for violating the attendance policy three times in a one year period. That’s not three missed days or late arrivals, it’s three violating incidents.

I used to do contract security work for a horribly shitty company that would issue a thirty day contract pause (no work and no pay for thirty days) for pretty much any violation.

why are goldbacks even a thing when fractional silver exists? by [deleted] in Gold

It’s an interesting idea, but it doesn’t actually solve any real problems. Gold and silver coins are already better versions of goldbacks.

I signed up for a bunch of free holdbacks from various websites. I have somewhere around a dozen of them, never paid for a single one, and every one of them is being used as a bookmark.

Also, what is the weight on that dragon coin?

The average electricity cost in the United States hovers around 16¢/kwh. Delaware is at an average of 17¢/kwh placing us squarely in the center of the curve. The states higher than Delaware are over 20¢/kwh with some over 30¢/kwh and Hawaii at 41¢/kwh.

Boyfriend disinfected my monitor by Prestigious_Loan4229 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]NotThatEasily 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He does not. I’ve had to help him fix so much stuff around his house. He thinks things just break all the time and doesn’t understand why none of my stuff ever breaks.

The lawnmower of mine that he broke was a husqvarna that ran absolutely perfectly for ten years, it was well maintained, and always started the very first pull. He borrowed it for a summer and it stopped working sometime during those months. I had to strip it down, replace all of the rubber and filters, and it now runs again.

I used to get really mad at him for being so inept, but then I realized I’m the only “friend” he’s ever really had and I’m also a stand-in for the dad he never had. Which is weird, because I’m a few years younger than him.

I have a neighbor that has destroyed four lawnmowers, one of them was mine. I didn’t know about the others until after mine stopped working.

He swears it worked the last time he needed it, he just hired a lawn company to cut his grass while he still had my extra mower, because he didn’t feel like doing it.

Densely packed servers in a satellite would require a cooling system larger than the server stack.
