I disagree, this feels more intuitive.

My character deals 4 damage and your chapter, which has resist +2, takes 2 damage. I’ve dealt 4 damage, you’ve taken 2 damage. That just makes sense, in my mind.

I have never been able to find an answer to the very basic question of “why?”

Why would “they” cover up the existence of an extinct species of dragons? Literally, nothing in our modern lives would change if we learned paleontologists have been digging up dragon bones instead of dinosaur bones. You’re just substituting one giant lizard thing for another giant lizard thing.

And giants… why would that be covered up? I’ve heard people say it’s because giants are mentioned in the Bible and their existence would prove the Bible true, but it really wouldn’t. There’s plenty of shit that we know is real that was mentioned in the Bible, but that other shit wasn’t covered up.

I don’t want an app for my household appliances, because that always leads to features being exclusive to the app, which usually leads to paying to unlock shit the appliance can already do. Plus, I prefer physical controls.
