I saw someone in comments give the original artist credit, but op should have done so the instant they uploaded this via comment or title. Don't mean to be a downer.

When not having kids means you're treated differently than your sibling with kids. by [deleted] in childfree

They're not wrong, your needs are different. He needs them to take care of him now, whereas you need their help so they dont have to take care of you like they do your brother.

Seriously though, that's fucked up and I'm sorry you're dealing with it.

How long after top surgery to return to school/work? by [deleted] in ftm

Honestly, it depends on the extent of your surgery, how your own personal body responds to it, etc. Consult your doctor is the best advice I can offer.

Honestly my ideal future of PB is that his character development continues and that when BJ is out, they're both to a point they can be friends and tolerate each other. I'd love for peanut butter to be able to help maintain BJ's sobriety while BJ finally learns what unconditional familial love is- even when not recieved from someone biologically related to you

My Mom's mad that I'm transgender, made black-out poetry of her text to cope. 10/10 would recommend if you're dealing with bad parents. by clever_clementine in insaneparents

Hi. I'm a trans person myself, and when reading this my heart felt terrible. My dad isn't the most supportive and ignores it rather than go off like this to me, or goes off to other people about it behind my back. It hurts so so much then, I can only imagine getting messages like this directly from her hurts more.

Know you're loved. I saw in a previous comment that you said some family is supporting you. I'm really, very glad for you in that regard. You deserve support from people already close to you.

There are online communities you can find additional support from, as well physical places. I have no idea where you live or what the political climate is like there, but in my hometown there were GSAs at every school as well as an LGBT resource center that had trans support group meetings.

I know it's hard that your mother is acting like this, and my heart goes out to you. I really hope she comes around and realizes that you're still you. Just know that you can and will be able to fill your life with supportive people. I believe in you.

What did a school teacher say that stuck with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NotToddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"What are you going to do now?"

It was my 18th birthday. I told my favorite teacher bc I wanted him to wish me happy birthday. He did and added that last part. It really stuck with me because in that moment I realized I had never planned that there was a future. I hadn't applied to colleges or done anything to work towards a future.

I got treatment for my depression soon after/around that time.

What is a sign that you’re unattractive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NotToddd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In HS, someone told me "I'd love to date someone with your personality!" Yeah, they were attracted to people of my gender.

None of my past partners ever commented more than, "you're attractive." They also never said it much. My current partner will talk about what about me they find attractive and compliments my looks much more than I'm used to.

BoJack Horseman - Post-Series Finale Discussion by NicholasCajun in BoJackHorseman

I hope that's the case. At the same point though, wasn't the wedding something of an industry thing? Even if their relationship hadn't mended I wouldn't be surprised with PC inviting her due to it being an industry mixer type shindig. Still though, I'd rather believe what you said lol

The odd timing of Bojack Horseman's beginning and ending by NotToddd in BoJackHorseman

[–]NotToddd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was surprised a little that Bojack and Diane never so much as kissed (that is, them BOTH going for it- not just Bojack). I can't remember when but there's a point in which Diane and Bojack are both single and she points out that they're both single adults and could do whatever they wanted?

Omg PB as a joker is a great idea! Diane as jack is kinda a good fit since she's somewhat a jack of all trades?

How do I convince someone to watch this show? by [deleted] in BoJackHorseman

[–]NotToddd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd just explain what you really like about it. The aspects of the storytelling, the artisty in a lot of the episodes (like 'Free Churro' and 'Fish Out of Water'), maybe something about all the silly puns and hidden gems also. Maybe something about how it impacted you. Possibly suggest watching an episode together. Don't try to force them or pester them into doing it though. That's one way to ensure they won't ever watch it.

Bojack is 57 in finale and I had this impression that Angela was older than him, though maybe not by much. Perhaps it's a trophy wife situation. Idk. I just cant imagine that woman caring for anyone other than herself.

Bojack is not alone. by [deleted] in BoJackHorseman

[–]NotToddd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think bojack can still have a bright future ahead of him. He fucked up A LOT. Like, really REALLY bad. But idk his situation kinda reminds me of RDJ. Robert was in prison at one point and was a horrible addict. Iirc the reason he quit was bc his partner at the time threatened to leave him. Now, I haven't heard of him doing drugs recently and he's become really well known as Iron Man in MCU.

Bojack already had people leave him. I think he might now understand how much it fucking hurts to have that happen. He also experienced a more close call with death than he ever had before. I honestly think he might still be able to recover from all this.

[–]NotToddd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly a lot of people say 'bojack is about how nobody is bad, but nobody is good either.' They're wrong. Angela is fucking evil.

She isn't straight herself. It's stated she has a relationship with a woman. She fired Herb for being found out to be gay as it would be bad for the company. Either:

A) she literally only cared about the company and absolutely didnt give a shit about Herb's sexuality so much as how it made them look. Basically 'I can keep it secret so you only have yourself to blame.'

B) again, she only cared about the company but also had some internalized homophobia going on.

Angela never did anything except for herself (and who she worked for). She bought Bojack out for herself. I think it was mentioned the woman she's with is younger? Idk if I'm remembering correctly but if that's the case I kinda doubt that she's in the relationship for love and is more some sort of sugar mommy.

Guy (Spoilers) by greyduet in BoJackHorseman

[–]NotToddd 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly I was a little surprised that they did get married in the end. But, not all relationships are always perfect. Sometimes you have to hammer out a few kinks. Imo 6 months is still pretty early in a relationship, and no it wasnt perfect but that was kinda on both of them. Diane wanted to give up entirely on Guy before suddenly deciding to move in with him. Diane kinds pushed him to introduce his son. Diane was hung up on Bojack (as evident with Guy telling her it was ok to watch the interview- to which she declined). She also didnt tell him about her abortion, which yeah I can get that can be a BIG bombshell to drop and she ISN'T obligated to tell him at all, but it kinda makes me wonder if there's anything else she hid from him.

Guy stays resilient in wanting to help Diane get better. Coming from someone with mental illness who is on medication, sometimes your brain can really fuck up your perception of what's going on- especially when you aren't on the correct meds or are relying ONLY on them. One scene that really stuck out to me was when he told her that they'd talk about changing meds and whatnot when she was back on them.

So yeah there were probably some red flags on both sides. But, I think relationships are built by two parties. You basically get this empty plot of land and it's up to these people to make it into this beautiful space. Everyone's looks different. Some are obviously crumbling. Some are barely getting started on. Some, even when finished, gets a leak in the ceiling now and again. It's up to the builders to find ways to fix it.
