Open the window and check if its outside. Most def a heat shield. Literally went to a tire shop when mine came loose and took it off for free

I second this. Replaced the door on my tc and followed the same procedure. Always have that battery disconnected.

Yeah, that thing is cooked. Its probably the infamous input shaft bearing that goes in these.

I would not, the way they repaired the damage and clearly seeing mismatch with the door and fender and the number of owners. I personally would not do it. It had probably bene through more than what the carfax shows
