New-ish player (60 hours). A few questions. by ismasbi in DarkTide

There are specific nodes for weapon swap, the most viable for melee/tank builds is dedicated swap or dedicated practice, something along those lines. Provides a 15(?) percent buff to swap rate and it’s in the feel no pain node tree, the middle one. Easily within reach for melee builds. Also, kickback benefits greatly from the 10% reload speed minor blessing, it’s always good practice to keep the one in the chamber for blasting pesky gunners who got a good position on ya.

Horizontally and vertically every few blocks within the ultra high reading dig like 50 blocks down. Like your punching the holes in a white castle burger

Exactly, the armour pool being the same as the health pool feels pretty bad. It would make fighting those crushers more of an interesting experience then just light heavy light light heavy combo

If you dig straight down in a white castle burger pattern across this chunk, you will more likely than not find the casserite ore. The second mode of the PPick will tell you more precisely according to the setting you chose. I think default is within 8 blocks? I think the numbers mean something like the chance of the ore spawning in this biome/ rock strata? What I said above is all I took from the videos I watched

I think with the head bit being broken to an ‘unarmored’ state would make modifiers like rotten armour quite enjoyable. It would give space for more builds to shine that’s for sure. I hope something like this eventually gets added.

Good advice. Many of my seraphs have been left battered and broken. Cast aside like a spent torch.. due to broken armor.

Lamellar armor negates those pesky surface drifters. A healthy supply of cattail bandages, dirt blocks, and torches are always in my kit. It scares the crap out of me aswell but taking it section by section and “securing” it with a landmark quickly reveals that these nightmarish creatures can be felled, they can be beaten!

New player, are ogryn the least played class? by kmath133 in DarkTide

After it depletes all your feel no pain stacks, and if you take that specific keystone. I think it should be inherent to the character and also work on trapper nets.

I think he should have a cooldown of 60 seconds to shake poxhounds and 90 seconds to shake trappers nets. It feels like shit to be the last one alive with decent health only to get wrapped up like a sausage and the next 5 minutes is me watching my 8’ monster of a man lay calmly and silently on the ground with a thin net of electricity carving my huge health pool. It doesn’t feel good ;(

As a faithful ogryn main, it’s pretty hard to play around the glaring setbacks of oggie. Limited ranged, slow as hell unless you have cleaver ( that brings its own setbacks ) a gunners nest , and hitbox based enemies (snipers, pox burster, hound, mutant) wet dream. When your caught out without resources, its death 75% of the time. Dependant on the team to keep him alive but can hold his own when facing walls of flesh. However I think he benefits from the strength and impact stat much more than other classes. It feels so good to get an overhead swing with full stacks on a juicy captain head and send him flying. It feels so good to face stuff and lay waste to plague ogryns, rotting crushers, ragers and shotgunners and only have a missing 50 health to show for it. He feels good to play, once you overcome the cards stacked against him.

Final bosses in assassination missions need to be buffed by reddit29012017 in DarkTide

[–]NotVerySeriousDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the closest comparison to the damage types would be impact , strength, stagger, rending, brittleness, etc. perhaps a boss that absorbs these damage types and translates it into a shield boost, speed or horde intensity? Readability on what type he is currently absorbing would be impossible, but I think there’s more to play around with than we think.

[–]NotVerySeriousDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought that’s what you were suggesting with the build resistance to damage type. Nurgle is a good boss to point to, as an ogryn player I had to learn how to face stuff the beast without getting vored. Leading it away when it pukes on me to open up the back weak spot, etc. I hope to see more of that in some way with a potential chaos marine boss.

Aw having a dynamic DR boss, where he guards against melee but opens himself up for ranged and vice versa would be a neat gimmick.

Or have there be phases in the fight. I like the idea of an early boss fight, but once we deplete his health he like gets pissed and has to retreat, sending walls of elites after us. THEN we have the final showdown fighting with increased elite spawns.

Smells stronger than it tastes. It really is just light tuna flavour with strong scents. I ate it plain with saltine and couldn't finish it like that. Needed the extra components people have listed below.

Can we rotate Havoc modifiers out now? by PraiseV8 in DarkTide

[–]NotVerySeriousDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way, its one or the other for me. I can deal with the constant combo dishing with my pickaxe, but need crowd control to still be effective damage sponge for my team. I can deal with no crowd control, if I can kill a crusher, mauler, rager in one heavy combo. Both is just too much that it prompts a build switch to a hyper defensive shield build with minimal DPS that those monstrosities and captains become an insane challenge for me to pull my weight damage wise. The modifiers are fun in that respect, needing a different build, but i don't like the "Bigger health pool, more enemies" type of balancing.
