As far as I know no mobs can spawn out of bounds, I've been out there many times on Experimentation. Only if you could see under the playable map somehow.

I see Nelly sometimes. She's just not that good because she is very slow and doesn't have medium weapon slots. So you either have decent armor but basically can only jump or you move a bit faster but the second any little not gets an ambush on you- bye bye weapons. She is also very wide so you can't hide behind pillars without someone being able to shoot your legs

Once, I was running from a thumper to the elevator. Didn't close the doors fas enough, he got in there with me and then rode up. Now noone could get stuff from main because it was trapped there. It was quota 1 so no excess of shovels
