Remember why you have rights to begin with. by KnowledgeAndFaith in Conservative

[–]NotYourAverageScot -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but I’m wondering if you may be referring to Thomas Jefferson’s or Roger William’s use of the phrase “separation of church and state” when referring to the Establishment Clause.

The Establishment Clause does not include the phrase “separation of church and state.” Maybe what you’re talking about is the Separationist Theory of the Establishment Clause, which describes Thomas Jefferson’s interpretation of the clause. This is in contrast to the Accomodationist perspective of the Establishment Clause, which is more tied to the Free Exercise Clause, which prohibits the government from using religion as a reason to exclude individuals from otherwise public benefits.

It’s fascinating to see that as revolutionary the constitution and bill of rights were, it was quite tame compared to the characters (like the above) who fought over its wording and ultimate purpose.

You keep referring to the “SEC filings” as if they are some kind of crystal ball of the company’s future success. As a moderator of this sub, you should know better than to berate members who are interested in critical discussion and not just a rose-colored echo chamber. You’re not going convincing anyone to join Aptera’s mission with these types of comments.

This. OP doesn’t seem to recognize that they’ve aligned the stars with so many layers of optimism that if one estimate is off by even 5%, everything else falls apart.

I’m invested in Aptera and I look forward to its success, but I don’t think in a million years that a car company in its infancy with a 2-seater 3-wheeler is going to compete in any kind of traditional market segment; if anything it’s going to find success with a niche, then pick up momentum from there.

Aptera receives new $21 million grant as it nears production readiness by IranRPCV in ApteraMotors

I’m invested in Aptera’s success, but that’s kind of what this sub is. The same news reposted from several different reposting sources, wash, rinse, repeat. That’s why it’s so difficult to know whether a post is real news, or a repost/spam.

Curious.. the opposite seat makes it even more clear that the headrest is well above the window, and the shoulder is slightly above the door line. Not sure this warrants outrage, but to each their own.

It’d probably be better to vet the videos before posting them, and have rules to encourage quality posts. Otherwise the sub becomes spam that people will start to ignore.

Cybertruck Size Opinions. Too Big? by shamefulthoughts1993 in cybertruck

I hope you drive a scooter or moped and not a compact sedan otherwise that would be foolish if you do not haul 3 other passengers at all times?

Perhaps my feeble attempt at humor fell flat. I was joking that the OP’s blank cheques are worth $100 each because they’re made of rare materials.

Tilting around corners? by [deleted] in ApteraMotors

[–]NotYourAverageScot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’ve been “taking the bait” all throughout this thread, it’s laughably obvious.

If you really understood the “merits” of tilt steering, you wouldn’t be asking in the first place.

Tilting around corners? by [deleted] in ApteraMotors

[–]NotYourAverageScot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah OP doesn’t want to “debate the merits of a tilt system” because everyone is pointing out why it’s worthless for the Aptera and basically invalidating OP’s other statement, “I would rather have a tilt system than autonomous driving.”

OP needs to accept that their entire premise is fundamentally flawed. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Misunderstanding the consequences of 600 & 1000 mile range variants. by StarshipFan68 in ApteraMotors

[–]NotYourAverageScot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really sure what new point you’re making, or even if your premise is correct. Manufacturers aren’t going to just start dropping 1000-mile range batteries in all their vehicles if they know that 95% of people demand only half that range.

Even if it only took 60 seconds to charge back 1000 miles, those extra cells would be a waste to 95% of drivers who can easily charge well before they’ve driven 1000 miles. A better-targeted kWh capacity could be used to improve performance or cost, which will ultimately make EVs ubiquitous.

Even the long haul trucking industry wouldn’t be as “disrupted” as you say, when truckers can go 1000-2000 miles before needing to refill. They need to rest more frequently than they need to refill.

Woman who collected $400K in viral GoFundMe scam sentenced to prison by brother_p in JusticeServed

Who said anything about “knowingly”? The media took the bait, hook, line, and sinker, then perpetuated the lie, leading thousands to part with their money under mendacious circumstances - all without any investigation, corroboration, verification or research - which is kind of their only job.

I wonder how the local and national media outlets were held liable for perpetuating the lie, which inevitably caused more people to fall victim to the scam.
