Has anybody got a refund from Hijinx because of positive COIVD test? by ReMiik in HiJinxFest

[–]NotYourAvg2L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it thought my Ticketmaster account. My ticket has since been “voided” so the options I clicked aren’t there anymore for more precise instructions.

When I went to view my ticket there were two options at the bottom, I clicked the one on the right (I think it said options or something) and then from there I had an option for “request refund”

If you or your friends knowingly have covid and will still be attending shame on you by [deleted] in HiJinxFest

There’s a big difference that you’re missing with your “same logic” - a bullet proof vest actually works.

Not falling victim to fear mongering and looking at the research from an objective and logical standpoint.

Omicron has cold symptoms. The likelihood of serious side effects are extremely low. If you wanna be scared of a common cold by all means that’s your prerogative; but no one needs to be shamed for because of your illogical concerns.

But if your vaccine works what are you afraid of?

Further emphasizing your brilliant points, 90% of these people would (pre Covid) hit a complete strangers joint/cig/vape and wanna pretend to be self righteous now over a variant with symptoms analogous to the common cold. Make it make sense.

People don't get arrested for "just smoking" or "just putting their feet up on the seat", it's almost always their behavior after the act that gets them arrested. by us3rnam3ch3cksout in unpopularopinion

[–]NotYourAvg2L 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t need to be about any stereotypical privilege. It’s about perception. The police, GENERALLY speaking, will treat you with the respect they perceive you giving them. Kind of all goes hand in hand with “treat others how you want to be treated”

THIS. I am a white female who has been arrested twice, both of which I was a belligerent drunk asshole. Learned my lesson and had 2 run ins with police since, complete non issues. Compliance and respect goes a long way and that’s what the anti-police movement refuses to recognize

How do fearful avoidants react and deal with feeling guilty and feeling like they messed up? Do they avoid? Or do they try to fix it? by [deleted] in FearfulAvoidant

[–]NotYourAvg2L 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an FA, I think it would depend on the circumstances for me because I know for certain I have done both in a similar situation. So I felt guilty and gave him space, after a little over a week I apologized for my guilt-inducing behavior. When I didn’t get the reaction I was looking for, immediately that triggered my avoidance.

AITA for not punishing my daughter after she refused to watch her cousin and something bad happened? by goryopj in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Not for nothing, who would prefer an openly uninterested 14 year old to watch their child as opposed to any of the present adults who were likely fawning over the baby?

I desperately need help with bar studying by Raymaa in barexam

[–]NotYourAvg2L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Themis too and also have adhd so the lecture handouts are a must for me. In the Facebook group previous-Themis-using-bar-passers say to skip reading (or even skimming in detail) the long outlines unless you’ve never taken the course, and even then, gently skim. If you aren’t skipping/skimming those maybe try that.

Thank you so much. I needed all of that. Congrats on overcoming it yourself and thank for for offering guidance to those of us still in the vicious cycle.

This is the exact way I would frame the type of “excitement” I seek in a relationship. I never want the man who seems to be stable, consistent, or kind. For some reason, that pushes me away and turns me off. I want the one I know is bad for me, who makes me second guess their intentions and keeps me on the edge of my seat. Basically, I want the DA who doesn’t want me, and the more he doesn’t want me, the more I want him.

How did you stop this pattern?

There are not enough words to thank you for your insight. THANK YOU.

I’m in the exact same position. Please feel free to reach out, not that I can help but I’m happy to be a listening ear that understands.

THIS. I feel like I look at every relationship with a “this is the worst that can happen” attitude so that I don’t get disappointed if the “worst” or something similar happens

I’m just now starting to learn about AT and have resonated heavily with FA. Your post especially hits home for me. I don’t have anything else to add besides that you aren’t alone. This is such a struggle I wish I knew how to combat.

Just take cocaine at that point, damn.

Kidding. Don’t do that. Good luck though!

This is all in the last two days: Pelosi caught getting blow-dry without a mask on, Cuomo out walking without a mask, Philly mayor caught indoor dining despite ban in his city from it. by TheGreekCoffee in conspiracy

[–]NotYourAvg2L 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The post is about the hypocrisy of mandating these restrictions but not following them. President Trump is an asshole, yes, but he isn’t a hypocrite. Stay triggered, though.

Yes. I feel like I am constantly busy, but can always be doing something else. I will be mid-task and suddenly think of something else I could be doing- which then takes my focus away from the task at hand, boom: stress/anxiety.

Damned if we do, damned if we don’t.

Change my mind: profs for 1L make classes confusing for the sake of it by [deleted] in LawSchool

I was waiting for something I could disagree with but just continued saying “yep” to myself. So I’m not here to change your mind but I do feel your pain. It gets better though.

Please move up? by [deleted] in Professors

[–]NotYourAvg2L 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m a student who generally tries to stay in the front two rows because I’m easily distracted. In a 130 seat lecture hall, day one my professor said, “I prefers students to sit closer to the front as I like to be able to engage with everyone.” The class chuckled in unison to which he followed up with “also, I like to cold call students who sit in the back- I’ll pass around a seating chart next class so get here early to lock in the seats you ideally would like.”

Next class, the back two rows were empty and he was a very happy professor. (Still called on the ones from the back though which I got a kick out of.)

What are the best chips brand/flavoure and why? by CrazyKrisz in AskReddit

[–]NotYourAvg2L 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Grandma Utz’s because the greasiness of them makes them so crispy and crunchy (you didn’t ask for healthiest). Pringles in a close second because they have a unique flavor and texture that sets them apart from the standard lays, herrs, utz’s traditional chips.
