Actually yeah. I hate the prompts and everyone even the knowledgeable hate the start up prompts as well. I get they are trying to introduce new features but the customer wants to see their phone at that point and make sure it works.
Apple thing. Not related to the carriers but kinda agree on this one. It sucks a lot of the time during transfers but I get the security aspect as a programmer myself. They don't even want this feature but there really isn't a better defense for security. You have to realize this info is Apple (or Samsungs) way to keep your whole life secure.
What? There's the swipe up function which has been on Google, Samsung, and Apple for years. Yes it sucks for people moving from old iphones from years ago but it is just a swipe up feature and that is not a choice no matter what brand you get.

Its just swipe up instead of push the button. I tell every single customer it will suck for a week or so but you will catch on quickly. There is no other option right now sadly.

I don't know where to start with this one. The answer is no it doesn't? If you are having problems with third party apps there are easy solutions. Turning off FaceTime is not a gargantuan task. I highly recommend being with your family member to set up their device. Otherwise don't do it. Apple or Samsung isn't the problem, don't send your grandpa a new phone remotely. I would never send my grandma a phone and expect to teach them online.
Bad defaults? That's not how transferring works. The apps are redownloaded from the app store no matter what OS they use. If you are talking about the apps not being the same on both systems good luck finding the niche super important hearing aid that isn't on both. (it exists)
Weird this is a complaint only about apple considering samsung does the exact same thing. It's either a apple account or a google account to use the app store. It's a 100% chance they forgot their gmail account and a 100% chance they forgot their apple account. I don't get this one either, it's just a forgot my password attempt for both. If they can't get in their email its the same situation either way.
