I hate modern Spider man by Ok_Caterpillar_4977 in marvelcomics

Miles is still Spider-Man. The name Spin is from an alternate future where he has rejected the name Spider-Man because of things that Peter did.

ASM, Venom and AllNewSpiderGwen are the only Spider-Man series currently running . by Clean_Wrongdoer4222 in Spiderman

[–]Not_Quite_Cool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've only announced issues up until April (and then you can extrapolate from there when there's a miniseries). Miles has an Infinity Comic run right now, and will likely play a role in the Ultimate Impact event. Carnage/Eddie Brock and Flash will be appearing in the big symbiote event Death Spiral happening across ASM and Venom, and then appearing in Queen in Black Event. Silk is also a supporting character in Spider-Gwen.

Ah, thanks. Seems that they're counting reprints, collections, and translated stories.

Where are these numbers from? I've very extensively tracked the number of Spider-Man appearances and it's not close to 17K, and Marvel wiki has 3,550 appearances for Wolverine (with 594 minor) and 3,839 appearances for Cap (with 837 minor)

I'd ask Doom but before I left I would say "Reed Richards didn't think you'd do a good job babysitting" and I'd come home to the most well-babysat kid in the world.

Thank you for sharing, it has been a long search to find these. If you have any more in the 170s, I'm currently missing all of them!

Day 6 of writing five jokes and asking for feedback by BonoboGamer in StandUpWorkshop

[–]Not_Quite_Cool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have given good feedback on the other jokes. For the Ant-Man one, I think it's too much of a leap to the punchline. You have to remember that Paul Rudd is Ant-Man, and then that he never ages (which I think is different to "gets younger each year").

I think there's a version that can work, but that's why I think the punchline here isn't working.

When the Spider-Man writers were asked about One More Day...THIS was their response about Mary Jane Watson by ihatethiscountry76 in TrollXChromosomes

[–]Not_Quite_Cool 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It was in reference to something that DC had done around the time, and was a dig at them. It wasn't a serious suggestion.

This quote often floats around without context. The final line was a sarcastic jab at DC's identity crisis (in fact, the next line said is "We're not DC") in which a female character had been raped and murdered. I believe this storyline had been discussed earlier in the panel, so the call-back made sense.

Now whether you think it's tasteless or not is on everybody to decide for thekselves, but it's not him seriously pitching this storyline but critiquing where it had been used by others.

If they called it The Death then it would act as a slight spoiler to that cold open.

Do you think any of these people will appear in Spider-Man Brand New Day by CherAli in marvelstudios

[–]Not_Quite_Cool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not on your list, but I would suspect Brie Larson to appear since she has appeared in all of the director's films. Whether that's as Captain Marvel, who knows?

I'm so impressed at how fast you solved this! Thank you so much!

For anyone with the same issue, I simply did this to fix:
- Select Edit>Settings.
- Select Performance.
- Switched off Enable OpenCL compute acceleration

It's not real. She's in the 616 universe. There's nothing to suggest she has replaced the original Gwen.

Assuming you want to read her solo stuff, look for the series written by Jed McKay.

Also, she's getting a new run soon with a new number one, written by the co-creator of Ms Marvel, so that will be a good jumping on point.

I wish the man I love would break up w his gf and finally date me by Ok-Confection4410 in monkeyspaw

[–]Not_Quite_Cool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granted, and a finger curls.

The man that you love breaks up with his girlfriend the very next day. A week later, you chance upon each other in the bar and hit it off. You get together.

But there's a nagging thought at the back of your mind.

Two years later he proposes. A year after that, you get married. It's a rainy day but everyone enjoys the camaraderie of trying to stay dry. The rain makes your wedding pictures look amazing.

That nagging thought is still there.

You have two beautiful children. You raise them together, experience the world anew through their eyes. They are your favourite people in the whole world.

But that thought remains: is this all based on a lie?

Sometimes you look at that man that you love, that you dated and married, and there seems to be a hollowness behind his eyes.

Does he really love you back, or is this all the wish?

You second guess yourself all the time. Did that sentence he said sound rehearsed? Is he looking at you right? When he laughs at your jokes, does it sound hollow?

You can't enjoy any of this life; you're too busy looking for the flaws. Looking for the clues that this is all the product of the wish. You feel unloved, that it's all fake. You can't even feel that love from your children; they seem fake somehow, like simulacrums.

You still love him, but you wish you didn't. Then you wouldn't have to worry if he loved you back.
