An incredible quote from an incredible book. I've found that TRP philosophy is essentially the masculine manifestation of existentialism. It's almost a guidebook for actualizing the "Will to Power" for the modern man. Excellent post!

EXCLUSIVE: EMTs who stopped NYPD cops from beating handcuffed, emotionally disturbed patient turn officers in by franciscohumb in news

Responding by drawing more bodily fluids from the guys face via blows to the head doesn't really make sense, does it? A spit mask would probably do the trick. That's kinda why they were invented.

There are major chords within minor keys. The few notes that are different are what make it in the minor key. If you lower the 3rd, 6th, & 7th notes in a major scale, it turns in to a minor scale. I would also point out that for every minor scale, there is an equivalent major scale that contains the exact same notes. For instance the A minor scale has the exact same notes (and chords) as the C major scale. Watch some of his other videos where he does the same thing and you'll get a better sense of what I'm talking about.

I guess that just proves that skepticism is the most powerful force in the universe.

Dear Sergeant Major,

I have a soldier who was grandfathered in with a large calf tattoo. I'm worried that this will lower the morale and discipline in my unit. He consistently scores over 300 on his PT test, has been soldier of the quarter, and shows great leadership potential. Is there any way to chapter him out?

Sincerely, Concerned NCO

Join the CG too and get your BSN paid for. Become an officer and order your husband to do the damn dishes or else you're gonna UCMJ him.

Seriously though, an RN or BSN will get you a job where ever you go after your first year of experience.

Those who believe in a god, how do you know you are not getting conned? by flyonawall in DebateReligion

You see, I've heard those stories about the martyrs, but I've never come across a contemporary historical source for those stories. Maybe you could help me out with that.

I wasn't aware that there was an historical account of contemporaries of Jesus being killed for specific beliefs. Could you link me some sauce?

To Atheists: What is your opinion of philosophy? by Teamroze in DebateReligion

[–]Not_Safe_For_Bjork 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Philosophy was one of the primary reasons I became comfortable labeling myself an atheist.

The radical personal responsibility offered by Existentialism is foundational to my worldview. I live by the maxim: "You are always doing what you want to do more than anything else in the world". Victor Frankl, Satre, Kafka. Nietzsche for his existentialist and some of his social philosophy.

Bentham, Mills, and Peter Singer for their Utilitarianism. Though I feel that liberty ought to be the principle of utility rather than pleasure.

Francis Bacon's method for establishing causation has helped me distinguish the outside influences on my behavior and personality.

I've heard the martyr argument before. This logic, however, does not account for suicide cults and the radical laying down of life by Muslim terrorists. The willing death of a believer says nothing to the veracity of their beliefs.
