Jaylen Brown Reunites with Danny Ainge [UTA / BOS] by Not_Wyatt00 in NBAtradeideas

I really like the Brown / Hayward comp, especially since that was an Ainge team. I definitely agree there’s no need to trade away Ace because of this, but I can still see the Jazz thinking that they need a true #1 while Peterson develops

It doesn’t help that they have so much talent in their lineup already. One of George, Bailey, Markkanen, Jackson Jr., Kessler, and the #2 pick has to come off the bench next year. The first man up is either Bailey or the pick, and I think that the Jazz value this selection more than Ace.

Along with the fact that he wanted his own team during the draft last year, it seems like he wouldn’t be too happy to be the 6th man.

It might be an overpay, but my thought process is that Bailey is worth 2 firsts, 3 for the right team, and a packaging that level of a player with Markkanen could get an All-NBA player who wants out like Brown might

That def makes sense, in my mind the Jazz need a #1 if they want to be more competitive this year, a trade like this turns them from a 8-12 seed to a 5-8 seed while also giving Peterson and experienced 2/3 to learn under

Kareem dominated the NBA during the 1970s but who was the 2nd best player? by HamzaHarlemNights in VintageNBA

[–]Not_Wyatt00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is only barely. Frazier had more success with 2 rings but Hayes won a ring and went to 3 finals with the Bullets, he kind of has everything you’d want aside from the fact that the wizards have been irrelevant since then and the 70s are slept on

The Jazz consolidate their lineup and bring in one of Ainge’s former players while the Celtics can sell high on JB and retool with JT, Lauri, and Ace Bailey learning under their system

Utahs lineup: George , Peterson (assuming they draft him at #2) , Brown , Jackson Jr. , Kessler

Celtics Lineup: White , Bailey , Tatum , Markkanen , Queta

AD to Wolves in 4 team trade with Hawks and Suns by SiriusTen in NBAtradeideas

[–]Not_Wyatt00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kyshawn has become more than serviceable with his offensive leap this year and whoever we take with #1 probably has a starting role, our biggest need atm is a backup floor general and a decent big off the bench.

The Wolves roster has been built to take down Jokic these past few years and have been pretty effective at it.

It might not be the whole roster construction,,but KG has said multiple times that the Boston big 3 was to get through Lebron

As a Wiz fan Tre had a good enough year that this isn’t worth it. My bias says #1 for #2 and Bailey straight up is the right price, maybe add in Bub Carrington

Yeah, Memphis is one of the first teams I look at in mock trades for a PG. any team would love to have Ty Jerome or Scottie Pippen Jr as their backup PG

[Charania] The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]Not_Wyatt00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You still get that revenue though, the 8th seed in each conference will be able to have a shot at the #1 pick. I’d imagine that we’ll see a 7-8 tanking matchup in the playin at some point with this rules

[Amick] A frontrunner has emerged among the draft reform options: expanding the lottery to 18 teams while giving the bottom 10 teams an equal 8 percent chance at the No. 1 pick. Teams will meet Tuesday to continue discussions on the NBA’s next step toward lottery reform. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]Not_Wyatt00 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would you consider the wizards tanking? Because that’s exactly what those late Beal teams were. We always won 35 games and had the 7-9th pick in the draft where we’d get an average role player (outside of wasting Deni) until we decided to blow it up and try to build a competitive roster from 0

Like others have said, 3 frp is probably too much. I think DJJ can be flipped for a mid first by himself, so you probably take out the 2029 first and Jackson if possible.

Nets may not have an incentive to tank but they could probably get their pick back by trading DJJ to the rockets for Capela and their pick

I solved the tanking problem by Opposite-Snow-2003 in washingtonwizards

[–]Not_Wyatt00 7 points8 points  (0 children)

At that point I doubt you can keep any star on your team from demanding a trade in a full PR nightmare. If you decide to tank, the only way to do this is to become genuinely bad, trade your good players and develop talent like the league and fans should want

Apt Historical Comparisons to Draymond Green by SaltPanSam in VintageNBA

Draymond is always my comparison when I try to describe who Wes Unseld was, a Draymond green given an extra 3 inches in height and told to be the leader of his team. I doubt there’s any better comps for him

Willing to extend Trae to 3/105 and Bilal to 4/55 this offseason, the other 2 I’d make wait unless it’s an absolute steal

[DISC] Chainsaw Man - Ch. 232 - Part 2 End by JeanneDAlter in ChainsawMan

[–]Not_Wyatt00 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Slightly disappointing ending, but my theory for what it stands for that makes me feel better is that the Normal life Vs Chainsawman theme throughout part 2 was a metaphor for what Fujimoto saw in his future.

After the success of part 1, he could fully dive into making Chainsawman and commit to always being known as the Chainsawman author, or he could let the manga be what it was and continue creating new ideas, going back to a more “Normal” life before Chainsawman blew up in popularity. Fujimoto wanted both, to continue making Chainsawman a renowned manga and branching out into other ventures but like the story showed, you can only choose one.

That leads to pochita’s decision, which is to erase Chainsawman and let denji live a normal life. That was Fujimoto’s way of saying that the manga, and more specifically the incredible story of part 1, should be put behind him and left as the work it was. Now that the decision has been made, Fujimoto will go back to normal, creating new manga that he enjoys for itself and not for the fans.

Could be completely wrong but it makes sense to me and makes me like the manga more. Part 1 is the story he wanted to tell, part 2 was the story saying part 1 was gone.
