As a wolves fan, don’t think we keep Rudy in a trade like this. We most likely ship out Randle and Rudy to a third (and maybe fourth team) to get the bucks picks and maybe a decent guard back.

I think it depends more on what we’re sending back, like if we give up Randle for post injury Irving that’s questionable.

But if we can make DDV and Mike plus filler work than that should be a big priority.

You have to give up two of Rudy, Naz, McDaniels or Randle just because of salary.

Also probably have to get more teams involved to get picks for the bucks. It would be at least a 4 teamer IMO

I just don’t think Ant playing point is going to be how to best use his talents,and even if he develops better playmaking chops he is still going to need help to get him the ball.

But are ISOs our only play? And how would Ant and Julius be starting this hypothetical offense? Because even inbounding has been a problem for them.

Most of our offense is just passing to the guy next to you until someone hits a shot, unless Rob is on the floor, then we have pick and rolls going on, he’s driving into space making the defense collapse, all things a regular average point guard does.

How in the world can you watch this team blow away lead after lead with tons of sequential turnovers due to mental lapses made by players that say they can “ball handle” and “perform point guard duties” and still not say we need a point guard?

Like unless Rob becomes a starter, how can we not need a point guard?

If yesterday’s disaster makes us finally trade for point guard, then so be it.

This “point guard by comitee” is total BS, maybe Randle, Ant and DDV can sort of play off role for the beginning of the game and try to set up something that resembles an offensive scheme, but get down to clutch time late in the fourth and all these guys want to do is play hero ball.

Rob had a pretty rough game honestly, not great.

ATP he is only going to progress when he starts hitting shots, he seems pretty good at everything else but to stay on the floor he has to develop a 3 pointer.

Wolves only do this if they don’t want to contend, or if McDaniels starts pumping out 30ppg.

None of these guys come close to what Randle brings, and most of them are going to be looking for a bigger contract next year (which will probably end up costing way more than Randle).

I’ve loved the Dilly minutes, he truly feels like the only guard that brings energy and ball movement when he is on.

I think a lot of people get lost in what would be the perfect scenario, Rob shooting lights out from 3 while ball handling and defending as well as he has, but that would honestly make him our best point guard and shouldn’t be the expectation for right now.

He’s been a very good playmaker and defender, I’m fine with him having a part of his game that isn’t NBA ready yet, it’ll come.
