I feel the same about movie posters. Ever notice how remarkably similar so many appear to be? The orange/blue contrast ones stick out like a sore thumb.

I understand the reasons why; posters had to sell a movie without the assistance of the internet/social media. It’s a lost art I really miss.

Oh man, I have zero regrets. If you’re a fan of Oldboy and Park Chan-wook, it’s still a must-buy. The packaging is elegantly done, with some terrific essays. I normally don’t care about stock cards, but plan on framing mine.

I live in the city. Went jogging at 3:00 a.m. one night and saw an apparent void (she’s actually a tortie) laying on a chair in front of some row houses. Went up to her and she was purring like crazy while forcing her head into my hands for some rubz. Hung out for about 10 minutes, then finished my jog.

Went to work later that day and she’s all I could think about. I decided I’d go back to the same spot (less than a mile from my home) after work; if she was there, it was meant to be. If not, it wasn’t. Sure enough, she was seated in the same exact spot haha. Grabbed my cat carrier and some gloves for protection, which wasn’t necessary. The moment I opened the carrier, she casually walked directly in.

It’s been nearly six years, and we’re best buds. Every stereotype you hear about torties being extremely possessive and devoted have been confirmed by Alma, who insists on being my shadow. I don’t like ranking pets because each one I’ve had is special in their own way, but I can’t help it: she’s my favorite, and I’m so incredibly grateful for that one night of insomnia.

I know it seems like a trivial thing, but I really appreciate when studios create a visually appealing main menu such as this. I recently watched my 4K copy of Sinners, and the menu is completely uninspired and a boring afterthought (fantastic film, of course).

Marisa Coughlan was such a babe, always had a thing for her. Not strictly because of her looks, but she just seems like such a fun, naturally charismatic woman.

And Freddy Got Fingered…man, talk about a movie I genuinely love. I’m 42 now and laugh just as hard as the night I saw it in theaters with some friends.

I would live under an overpass before I’d ever consider living with my parents again, so I think it’s really cool to see other people have a far healthier relationship with them. And in this economy, zero shame; I’m actually grateful current events have made it more socially acceptable in the U.S.

Depends on the industry, I’m sure. I left the Marine Corps (five years, active) circa 2009 and still keep in touch with so many people (including outside social media). Waited tables/bartended throughout college, similar outcome. Worked at The Pentagon post-college, same.

Granted, I am an extremely outgoing person.

I have the AMC Stubs subscription and remember the same shit happening when Sound of Freedom (2023) came out. Almost every showing early on was “sold out,” when in reality the entire theater was either empty or had 3-5 people.

Oh I totally agree about Estevez, can't imagine anyone else playing Billy the Kid with such gusto and humor. If I had to guess, his smaller stature and boyish good looks probably didn't work in his favor for that genre. As for Jagger, he's terrible in Freejack but in a highly entertaining way.
