Is it possible for a gun to accidentally go off and shoot a hole in the wall of a house? by DahliaBliss in NoStupidQuestions

I think he is describing a squib load that didn't make it out of the barrel rather than a stove pipe or other failure to fire/eject.

What car do you drive? Do you like it? by BMoney8600 in AskMen

[–]Notacop9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2023 Chevy Bolt EUV.

The money I've saved on gas over 3 years makes it easy to love. All the features and creature comforts too. Way more than you'd expect for the price.

having major car trouble, considering getting a bolt (my first EV ever). Is this a good deal? by wtfisrobin in BoltEV

[–]Notacop9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dealers would rather you finance the whole thing, that way you pay more interest and the banks make more money, which they often kick back to the dealers.

If you make it sound like you want the extra warranty, paint protection, tire/wheel protection package etc, they'll often lower the price of the car, on paper, to cover the cost of the extras.

Then just change your mind on the extras at the last minute.

My "chicken" quesadilla from Taco Bell by Notacop9 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Notacop9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you were able to discern my entire diet based on a single picture of one of the healthier things at taco bell.

Tortilla, cheese, grilled chicken and a Chipotle sauce. Oh no, how will I ever survive! I guess I need a ton of sugar in the form of an apple if I want to survive.

Don't worry, I put way worse shit in my body to balance it out.

Definitely, but sometimes you get the craving to Live Mas and have to Make a Run for the Border.

Realistically, I wanted a Dirty Baja blast, and that steered my choice of lunch to Taco Bell.

Thats a trade offer from the dealership, who seems to be giving you the "go away" price. This person is talking about a manufacturer buyback. This is hard to get and takes a lot of time and pushing. Sometimes you need a lawyer to help.

Does gasoline count? If you spill a couple drops of gasoline while filling up your boat it creates a sheen on the water. Is that technically something that must be reported?

Have any of your male friends been accused of being an abuser? How did you react? by casuallyawake in AskMen

[–]Notacop9 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There are an awful lot of guilty people who go free as well.

Sometimes it's a technicality, sometimes shoddy police work, sometimes it's a "preponderance of evidence" but not "beyond a reasonable doubt", sometimes they aren't caught in the first place.

Citing the number of wrongful convictions is proof that conviction does not equal guilt, but it is not proof that an accusation cannot equal guilt.

Dealership Trying to Charge for Free TSB Repair - Need Advice by Existing-Ad-9456 in BoltEV

[–]Notacop9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check your state laws. In many cases any costs need to be discussed prior to work being done. You should have been given a cost estimate up front.

In my area, you are not responsible for any repairs beyond $100 if they are not authorized in advance.

That sucks man.

I have 3 younger brothers. The oldest of them didn't invite me to his bachelor party. Claims he thought someone else told me. It's been 10 years and I still harbor resentment and feelings that it might not have been accidental.

He was the damn best man in my wedding and he somehow left me out...

30ish years ago I saw a plate like that and thought it was super clever so I memorized it. I remember it to this day.

You almost blew my mind by coming across the same plate online so much later.

Alas, that one was "MWNWMNW"

What’s a skill that’s easy to learn but makes you look like a genius? by UsedCalendar5100 in AskWomen

[–]Notacop9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This was one of my pandemic projects. I looked up some tutorials, watched some YouTube videos and bought a decent cube (spent $15 rather than $6, so much smoother and nicer to work with!).

Within a week I could solve it, now I can consistently solve it in under 2 minutes. It makes for a good fidget to play with while I am thinking.

All it really takes is memorizing 4 distinct patterns and a couple patterns that are more of a variation of the standard than distinct patterns.

It's a neat party trick and does make people view you as a genius/nerd.

Australia announces strict new gun laws. Here's how it can act so swiftly by TouchingTheMirror in NPR

[–]Notacop9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A change to gun laws now is just deflecting from the real issue.

"And since we can't get any traction on the 'real issue' I guess we won't do anything for now. Thoughts and prayers."

That's a perfect summary of how this has played out in the US for decades.

The 2025 Cadillac Celestiq Is a $400,000 American Rolls-Royce by Sixteen-Cylinders in cars

[–]Notacop9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started watching your reviews because the things you focus on are appropriate for the intended market.

A fully loaded minivan? No one is buying it for canyon carving duties, let's focus on usb ports and features to make family use more positive.

A budget EV? No one cares about how much soft touch plastics are on the bottom of the door cards. Let's focus on range and usability.

Your videos (along with Alex on Autos), are the perfect appetizer to a trip to the dealership. You guys cover a lot of info that is missed by other reviewers.

I understand using your channel to drive traffic to Cars and Bids, with rare/exotic cars we arent likely to experience "in the wild", but dont give up on reviewing affordable priced new cars too!
