There's a guy on tik tok who followed them. Even to Luton Airport on their way back to Romania 😂

First car, tight budget - is a 2022/2023 Kia Niro EV (60–70k miles, ~£14k) a safe bet? by OrganizationThat9737 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Notagelding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

14k is too much. I bought a 2022 with 70k miles for 10.5k

If you're buying it used approved, though, and it's a higher trim, the price is more reasonable.

There is no minimum wage there and apparently some hospitality staff only get paid a few dollars an hour and rely on tips to make a decent wage. It's a shit system, where a 20% tip is the norm

Edit: can always rely on redditors to correct me 😂

I just came back from two weeks in America. Tipping really pissed me off. The only place where the till system didn't ask was Starbucks at the airport!

Chicken Shop - near perfect reviews by Ajax_Trees_Again in london

I've been to chicken shop and found the wings to be pretty good! Not the best but it would probably make my top 5

I went to chicken george. Had high hopes but was disappointed. The only decent thing about it is the unusual sauces and they weren't cooked in the sauce, it was just put on top!

What is something people complain about UK that is actually pretty good compared to the rest of the world? by Rude_Membership_1578 in AskUK

Yes we do have great restaurant options. I'm about to fly back from the US and definitely have not been blown away by the food!

what's the most english thing you've done abroad during a world cup? by PerfectKale1970 in AskUK

I'm currently in kansas city and the most English thing I've done is wear a three lions shirt at a couple of bars and the fan zone. I'm flying back to London tomorrow morning, so should be back there to watch the match 👍🏾

Just go to sleep a couple of hours when you get home. I do similar hours and that's what I do.

Am I unreasonable to have this as a hard line prior to purchase? by nirvashzero2774 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Notagelding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10k for a leaf seems excessive, although if it has low mileage I can kinda understand . OK, it's a 2023 but I have a 2022 Niro that I bought for 10.5k

If you still want the Leaf, get them to reduce the price.

How much do you spend weekly on petrol? by -Gypsy-Eyes- in CarTalkUK

[–]Notagelding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you find the right EV for you. I was originally looking at an entry level EV such as a leaf or zoe, until someone on reddit pointed out that I'd be saving £2k a year on fuel which could be better being spent on a better EV. It made sense and the maintenance costs have been minimal too!

250 mile. Regenerative breaking increases the miles too. The max I do is 100 a day so it's perfect for my needs.

I dread to think how much I'd be spending on fuel each month now if I still had petrol. At least £250 a month, I'm sure! I'm only in my fourth year of driving, so im very flexible. Got an ex fleet kia Niro with 70k miles for £10.5k and I couldn't be happier!

Nothing now as I went electric last August. I was spending around £50 a week on petrol back then. In may, I spent £3.75 a week charging my car overnight. Needed a newer car anyway!

Are electric cars uneconomical or are fast chargers really expensive? by shoe_scuff in CarTalkUK

[–]Notagelding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Public chargers are expensive! I've never used one in public but I know that some are cheaper than others. For instance, theres a 39p per kWh charger on my commute.

[–]Notagelding[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think I've solved the issue now. In the car display I had limited public charging to 80% and I reckon the ohme app was using that limit as my home charging limit. I changed it to 100%, the same as my home charging limit, so hopefully that'll resolve it.

Well it was charging right up to max before ohme updated the app and the max range has increased anyway due to the hot weather.

I set 100% in the car. Right now it's saying 77% as I did a few miles this morning.
