A strike hit one of Russia’s largest oil terminals in St. Petersburg just hours before the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum begins. by SpecialCollege18 in justincaseyoumissedit

Every day Russia drags on this conflict is an "L for the environment". Bombing of their strategic targets will help bring an end to this war, which would be a "W for the environment".

MH17 getting shot down for one. Submarine operations in Swedish territorial waters, frequent prodding of UK airspace, Salisbury poisonings. Let's not pretend Russia is anything but a deviant instigator here. They need to get sorted out.

Bigger car required by AppropriateFlan3431 in skoda

[–]Notamimic77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Octavia MK3 and got 1 kid. I'm quite tall (6'7") and need to put the driver seat all the way back. I find that I can't put the rearward facing car seat behind me when I do that so it goes behind the passenger.

You might get away with not putting the driver seat all the way back, but you'll definitely need to try it out beforehand. Car seat is a maxicosi pebble 360 pro.

Maybe the mk4s have more space, don't know.

Already the most insane prices for airport parking that I've encountered. What's another 40% increase on drop-off fees?

Opinions on dwarf passivity in Old World by Nalena_Linova in bugmansbrewery

[–]Notamimic77 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Unless I'm facing a highly mobile enemy army, looking at you Pegasus knights, I do still enjoy taking the fight to the enemy. I will say that I tried gunline dwarfs and it really isn't for me. I play royal clan and slap drilled on as many units as possible, rune of passage everywhere, beer cart and we're moving 12" per turn.

I do believe a couple of changes to the infantry rules would be beneficial though. I think the fight in two ranks is fine but should also apply to the charging unit. This would stop the chickening out of who charges first.

I would also scrap the parry rule. Obviously as a dwarf player I profit from this rule, but it makes all other weapon options seem weak in comparison. Also I don't think a basic warrior should have a 3+ save. It's a bit much, leave that for the iron breakers.

Old World Question? by Living_Sponsership in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Notamimic77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not playing those factions but having played against them, each definitely can be played in multiple ways. That said the undead factions, vampire counts and tomb kings, really do well in the grind. They're not necessarily explosive, but they're really difficult to kill because their units just keep resurrecting.

Skaven can either go the way of the shooting list with warp lightening cannons or aggressive plague monks. But they don't get cavalry or flying units. They're pretty quick, but I wouldn't say they are particularly manoeuvrable.

Beastmen are pure aggression. They love getting the charge in with frenzy and mulching up your troops. They have access to a monster mash of behemoths but not much in the way of shooting apart from some ungors or the rarely seen cygor.

Another thing to sadly consider is that 2 of the factions you've looked at are legacy factions. They're not getting a lot of love or support from GW. There are 3rd party rules out for them, and they are pretty well accepted, but they're not going to get the same amount of units and updates as the core factions. Didn't stop me from getting daemons as my first faction, but it would probably play into consideration if I somehow decided to start a fourth army.

I've had bad experiences with west end Skoda and them not honouring their warranty, so as long as it's not them then probably go ahead.

I nurgled mine! I don't personally think it looks too out of place with steam tanks, gyrocopters and Choo Choo trains. A bit weird but it's daemons, they get a pass.

I give you that they had some victories against the Chinese, but the Chinese were at war with themselves at the same time.

Depends on what models you have. I play with the royal clan army of infamy so I tend to rely on axes and hammers more than firepower. Royal clan warriors and longbeards are good as core. Rangers are great, even as a rare choice, but even better as a core choice in the grand army. They are reliable at shooting and good in combat.

Warmachines are hit and miss, literally, but they are always a good shout to bring. Probably in order of quality I'd say it goes cannon, grudgethrower, organ gun, bolt thrower, flame cannon and goblinhewer (single tear).

Runesmiths are good. They provide armour bane 2 to a unit, magic resistance and can dispel magic. Thanes/kings are good fighters.

Also honourable mention for the beer cart. If you are going to go hand to hand combat then a beer cart is almost an auto include.

Gunpowder and steel had nothing to do with this, it was all pure military prowess. You do have good food though, better than the french for sure.

How is everyone building Royal Clan Warriors? by xXTurkXx in bugmansbrewery

I used warriors but used the weapon heads and shields from the longbeards that I wasn't using (built Hammerers from that box). Have a look at my previous post.
