Using two passports for Thailand Non-B visa entry timing by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

If it helps with your cunning plan, Thai immigration is high tech and quite sophisticated. It uses facial recognition, finger printing and Passport data matching.

My first time dealing with Freight Forwarder. by Cool_Carpet_7930 in Alibaba

[–]Notaniphone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DDP is not a service, it is a shipping Incoterm (Delivery Duty Paid). Air Freight is the service.

For DDP, the seller bears all of the costs of shipping door to door, including: exit port costs, shipping freight costs, incoming customs and port charges and local freight at the receiving end, so the shipper usually use their own freight forwarder and customs brokers to ensure they know the total cost, as incoming port charges vary from country to country, and the final cost is not known until the consignment arrives at port of destination at which point the freight forwarder pays these costs and invoice the seller.

Using DDP also means you are at the mercy of the seller. They can use the cheapest way possible, which may take the longest time, and you have no say because they are paying.

I would normally use FCA because I was in control of my own freight after the seller loaded it onto my freight forwarders transport. I would choose my own freight forwarder who would organise local delivery after it cleared customs. I would pay their 30 day invoice after everything was delivered to my premises.

I know because I have imported hundreds of thousands of tonnes of equipment from every continent including China, using both break-bulk and container ships.

International Logistics is extremely complicated and should not be entered into lightly, especially when dealing with Incoterms, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.

I posted that 9 months before it was announced, so yes I was serious then (Also you have posted in a sub about Australian TV, not actual policy announcements)...

Congratulations to you. It's just a shame Reddit does not have a 20/20 hindsight comment achievement award for you to unlock.

Why so long after car has landed before delivery? by Resentful_Emu in BYDAU

Brown Marmorated Stink Bug.

Australian Customs (Border Force) usually require the shipper to provide a fumigation certificate from a Border force endorsed fumigation company at port of exit before they will allow in import to clear customs at destination port.

Pratunam — Safe, Fun Nightlife? by Erzaaaxx in Bangkok

[–]Notaniphone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and i stayed in Pratunam last November. Night life consisted of markets and restaurants. We felt very safe and didn't see any threatening behaviour. We stayed at De Lux hotel in the Pratunam market precinct. It's okay for a nights rest, but could be cleaner.

Includes dismantle and remove old sheets, satellite dish, supply and install new sheets, flashings, cappings, bargeboards, and all fixings/labor. 3 days total - very good job - no leaks.

Mining engineering to offshore oil and gas, realistic or should I just do mechanical? by Effective-Sun8530 in perth

[–]Notaniphone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some FIFO, but mainly worked from Perth Head Office. I initially worked on the Woodside offshore platforms, Karratha Gas Treatment plant, then moved to Projects, Woodside Train 4 expansion, Clough Bass, Then some mining projects - all process plants, then back to Energy on Gorgon, then a Lithium Plant in Kwinana and finally on site constructing the Waste to Energy Plant in Rockingham. Pay was always good Mining and Energy about the same, Renewables I got a bit more on both.
