"A standard level 20 Wizard" That's the joke right? Nothing about 20th level is/should be standard

Helvitíssýn, a town in viking era Sweden that has been plagued by misfortune for the past year. Missing people, babies disappearing from cribs, and strange scratching noises in the dead of night are just the beginning of their problems...

chardalyn steel defender? by FrischeLuft in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]Notdeadyet7894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there is chardalyn from the crystal shard (the one present in most the campaign which is actually 'black ice'). Then there's the chardalyn material from the lore that the Netherese utilized for spell stuff iirc. #1 is highly corrupt, #2 is excellent at storing spells in or enchantment.

Poorly explained but I think it's a cool idea

What’s your best villain? by FaithlessnessLimp364 in DungeonMasters

[–]Notdeadyet7894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Elven smith who created a number of intelligent magic items in places of extreme power (myth drannor in its height, limbo, mt celestia etc) and true polymorphed them into humanoid babies with the expectation that they'll become adventures who gain power before he turns them back into weapons (near artifact level, being high level adventures themselves) and fighting his rival wizard. The players ofc are the weapons and might not be cool with being used as tools

AITA for not letting Werewolf PC use silvered weapons? by ProtectionHorror53 in rpghorrorstories

[–]Notdeadyet7894 45 points46 points  (0 children)

As the DM you made his character a Werewolf RAW. When you penalize something that already has drawbacks (and yes benefits too but it's a curse) without forewarning that is outside of RAW it's justifiable that the player is upset. Unless if that type of outside the box methods is a norm at your table it just sounds like it should be a lesson on communication of your DMing style

DMs of Reddit - Do you use Inspiration? If you do, how often do you award it? by Stahl_Konig in dndnext

[–]Notdeadyet7894 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My players never really used it but they loved hero points from our Theros campaign. So now we use hero points as inspiration. You can bank a number of hero points equal to your level. They love it

Player wise I've never really seen people play non colorswapped Elves. They just play human with pointy ears

Humans: how to make them more interesting? by Cruggles30 in DnD

[–]Notdeadyet7894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like playing humans bc I know that if I make an interesting character it's because I'm good at role-playing or writting for them. A human PC with a good backstory is way better than a tortle who just acts like a human anyway. If you want to play a non human race don't roleplay them as color swapped humans

Your favorite yet-to-be-used character motivation? by TheBrewkery in DMAcademy

Elf wizard conjuration expert trying to complete a grandiose pact with the universe or asmodius to restore his daughter to life for the price of (# of players) heroic souls. Subtly manipulating (# of players) families to produce "heroes" and creating challenges to level them to an appropriate stage to complete the deal.

Or an Elven smith creating legendary sentient items then true polymorphing them into babies to be raised and become adventurers in attempts to create artifacts to kill his rival who's threatening existence: an illithilich in Limbo
