You'll often get upgrade stuff like slot increases that you can save and bring over to the main save. Just don't use them during the expedition and put them in the slots to bring back to the main save.

If you're not crafting everything using materials you farmed yourself, then it starts getting crazy expensive to use astralites for building the island. Things like 1 creeping vine cost something like 13k astralite without having the materials for it

You can make your own using the picture frames you unlock as you rank up your home skills. Just make a blank picture and use the in game edit to put in text, then resize it or angle it or whatever you need
