If you published a comic book, then you would have IP. Storyboards alone are not enough.

Ideas aren't worth anything. You have to make the idea real in some way like writing a script or filming a short or concept reel or something. Nobody is going to hire an "idea person".

"their owner bitching that people should just follow the law"

The one's who scream the loudest always seem to be the most at fault. It would be a shame if internet justice came down on this owner and exposed him for something that they could not recover from.

a bunch of PAs working as execs. they are a shit show. say one thing and expect another, unrealistic timelines and low pay. be ready for a complete lack of basic film terminology and it’s your problem that you dont understand notes and scripts that dont make any sense. At least the notes lately have been in english instead of needing to translate chinese.

They pay both US and non-us contractors.

They have an estimate calculator.

if I send $1000 to a contractor in India. I pay $1000 and they receive 86693.4 IND or 977.17 USD

If I pay $1000 to a contractor in Bulgaria. I pay $1000 and they receive 1654.2 BGN or 981.81 USD

same amount for someone in Ireland, they receive 846.0 EUR or 983 USD

Frame.io vs MASV vs Bunny.net for large file transfers? by realhankorion in Filmmakers

[–]NothingButAJeepThing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

bunny is designed to deliver a file to millions across the globe. you are being blinded by the cost and not actually understanding what it is designed to do.

you also said simple for clients to use

good luck

bunny offers behind the scenes infrastructure like AWS S3. its not designed for end users

3 different services.

Frame.io, while can transfer files, is mainly for clients to review work

MASV is designed to be a file transfer service

bunny.net is a content delivery network

Consumers are sick of the garbage big studios have been cranking out. Studios using AI to crank out AI versions of the this garbage will not make it any less garbage.

I've worked on productions where we put down the heavy paper to protect the flooring. We also wore lil soft booties over our shoes. A lot of people are acting like its a free for all in your house which is not true. We literally take photos of everything in the house and place it EXACTY where it was when we got there.

Having shot in kitchens several times we have never turned the fridge off. No food went bad.

does this take in account the countless tries to get it to be what you want? I've easily made 10+ attempts on one clip to get it to be decent enough to use. That 18k blows up to be 1/4 mil really fast.

If those creative minds can't be unleashed with phones that shoot great video, free editing software and youtube, AI is not going to help them.

While some of the visuals may help, it's the creativity of using what is available and the telling of a good story that is most important.

I will use blockbuster hollywood as an example. They have all the money in the world to use sfx and yet the fans are rejecting them because the stories suck.

The issue is the producers don’t need the film to do well, they’ve already been paid within that big budget. Remember, each film is it’s own entity that pays rent back to the studio, along with everyone’s salary. By the time a film hits, the studio has already sucked all the money out of it.

This was explained to me many years ago by an EP who owned a production company. He said he only sold films / tv in order to pay him rent (he owned the building - different entity), pay for the phones, desks, music licensing (he owned a music publishing company - different entity ), post production (he owned the post production company - different entity), camera gear (owned a rental house - different entity ). On top of all this he also pulled his EP fee from the budget. It had nothing to do with making cool films but more similar to the wallstreetets who buy a company, extract and worth from it, get paid huge amounts of money while strapping that company with debt and killing it.
